ORIGINAL: TJSweens Everything logical says Wisconsin is the big favorite, but the Gophers have surprised a lot of people over the last two years. I'm still clinging to the idea of the fight in the dog being more important than the dog in the fight. They can do this! I have to admit that last week when Nebraska blocked the FG attempt and returned for the TD I was set to call it a night (it would have been about 2:30 Sunday morning for me) But I did stick it out to the end. I understand that Wisconsin may win, but I am more and more convinced that any team who gets a win over the Gophers will earn it. I am not looking for moral wins, but I no longer fear that this team will come out and just go through the motions, or when things get tough they will just fall apart. I think this may be as important as anything that Coach Kill has installed, and that is you play smart, play hard and keep believing you have a chance to make a play that will affect the game. This team has managed to win a couple of games the last few years that most would have expected them to lose, no reason to believe that this cannot happen again. Too with Brewsters teams they seemed unprepared, out-coached, made too many dump penalty's and just seem completely out of the game from the start. I am looking forward to the game against the Badgers today. The hard part is that it is a 4:30 am start time for me. I fully expect a good game. Again, Wisconsin may get the win, the only thing that would truly disappoint me would be if we did not make them earn it.
