I am sure everybody has heard about this.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000587108/article/browns-mike-pettine-we-might-bench-johnny-manziel

Like I have told guys that spend time in and out of prison who have addiction issues. "If you do your treatment like you are doing time pretty soon you will be doing time."

Johnny is in complete denial regarding his alcoholism. The girlfriend incident is September should have been enough to alert the Browns he was not working recovery. So what if he wasn't legally drunk. One drop = One Drink = 100 drinks for a alcoholic. I knew right when that report came out that he is totally preoccupied with drinking again. He has no chance at making it in this league unless he surrenders to his addiction. Especially important for a quarterback.

fkn idiot..

Someone needs to deliberately blindside Gregg Williams on the sideline and put his ass out of football permanently.

I agree with Dan

I would pay all fines of any of my players that knocked him out.

That player would get a new contract next year!

Let him see what a bounty is like

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota set the franchise record for most passing yards in a season Sunday. Sure, that says plenty about his place as the main building block going forward. But it says a whole lot more about Tennessee's recent history of putrid quarterback play.

It's only Week 12, and Mariota has played just nine games. Yet he's still already compiled the most single-season passing yards in franchise history.

Mariota reminded us that he is, in fact, still a rookie as he etched his name into that storied Titans history book. He sealed a loss to the Oakland Raiders with an apparent "miscommunication" that resulted in the game-ending interception on a ball thrown to pretty much no one.

This Week: 10

Change: -4

There are a number of reasons for the Green Bay Packers' spiral.

They've lost four of their last five games because quarterback Aaron Rodgers has often faced relentless pressure, and he's fallen from flawless performances, to outings that are merely good. They've also done a lot of losing because of a rushing offense that was sputtering; though that issue has been mended, as running back Eddie Lacy plowed ahead for 105 yards on 17 carries Thursday against the Chicago Bears.

But often Rodgers has received little support at critical moments from the buttery hands on the other end of his throws. That came to a head on Thanksgiving Day when wideout Davante Adams dropped three passes.

Adams has now turfed five balls over the Packers' last three games, per Pro Football Focus, and seven overall this season. That is an astronomical number considering he missed three games due to injury.

The same could be said for the Mock Controversy in Denver.

There shouldn't be a controversy in Denver. The Broncos need to move on from Manning.

It looks like the rumors of Manziel being cut by the Browns was incorrect. He's still in although he isn't getting the start with McCown out. Austin Davis is going to start with Manziel as back-up.

I couldn't agree more. Manning is beyond done. The only one that doesn't realize it is Manning. Eli is a far better QB now than Peyton. Osweiler has that team winning again. He's not throwing picks left and right. He's no world beater but Manning hasn't been that in two years either.

With that defense they need an efficient offense.

Osweiler gives them that. Manning doesn't.

Jerry Jones mentioned him specifically today when the local sports radio show asked about moving on from Romo. Man, how does that guy continue to get away with this?

Yeah, we all expect Luck to get his Pro Bowl form back at some point. The problem is if Hassleback is undefeated benching him may upset the team similar to a couple years ago when Chicago went back to Cutler after the understudy was winning games.

However, Peyton is totally done. Fork in him

What is Luck's return date?

Hassleback's performance really illustrates how Luck needs to cut down on the turnovers.

Enough of the excuses, HIS picks are the problem in Indy

Hyde still sidelined, season-ending surgery a possibility
December 3, 2015, 11:30 am

SANTA CLARA -- Running back Carlos Hyde will miss another day of practice on Thursday, and the 49ers could be nearing a resolution with the possibility they will look to create two roster spots in the next five days.

He has not played or practiced since Oct. 22, and he appears to be a likely candidate to undergo season-ending surgery and be placed on injured reserve.

i wish i had bet the farm on this post on this game.... back in september...

The Ravens are switching to a grass field in 2016 after using an artificial surface for 13 years. " It kind of epitomizes what Baltimore is all about," coach John Harbaugh said.

Titans defensive lineman Al Woods said it’s no competition. Woods has been practicing this week and plans to return to action on Sunday vs the Jaguars, despite suffering a high ankle sprain on November 15 against the Panthers.

His secret for coming back so soon: Holy water.

“The holy water and praying on it, that’s what did it,’’ Woods said. “I did the rehab I was supposed to do, but it’s the man above that heals."

Woods, raised Catholic, said his mother provided the holy water, which she got from church. He regularly rubbed the holy water on the ankle, he said, while making the sign of the cross and praying each day.

“I am being serious,’’ Woods said. “I know it helped. You could say that you have to fight through some things. It’s probably about 90 percent now. But it’s the holy water, and the prayers, that did it.”

---

When he was injured they said he'd be out a couple of weeks. Playing Sunday would be 3. Fairly fast for a high ankle sprain but a lot would depend on the severity of the injury.

God heals...pretty close to the same time frame as rehab. 3 weeks to get him to 90%. It's a miracle!

This is why that 538 is bogus
quote:

Panthers unimpressed by ridiculous 'worst 11-0 team ever' label

Second, 538 acknowledges an inherent built-in preseason bias to its projection system:

Add in the fact that Carolina wasn't expected to be anything special before the season began, and it isn't hard to see why our Elo ratings2 still doubt that the Panthers are even the NFL's best team this season.
The preseason rankings definitely got everything right, what with the Cowboys at No. 6, Eagles at No. 7, Ravens at No. 8 and Saints at No. 10. You should absolutely keep considering your preseason opionions as something relevant, computer.

Third, the 10th-best team on this list (2009 Saints) actually beat the 7th-best team on this list (2009 Colts).

Fourth, the previous "worst 11-0 team" before the Panthers came along? The 1972 Miami Dolphins. Seems logical.

Their ranking system is based on Elo. Elo was designed to rank individual chess players. Applying it to a team sport like football is ridiculous for a bunch of reasons:

1) A chess player gets better or worse based on nothing more than himself. A football team has far more moving parts, with some players improving and others getting worse.

2) There is no seasonal variation in chess players, while the composition of a team changes each season, and even within the season. Consequently, you have teams starting the season with their prior season's Elo score. That's essentially an assumption that the team will be the same in September as it was the prior January. When you start with a crap assumption, you're going to get a crap result.

3) Chess is a game of pure skill. There are no funny bounces, no officiating gaffes, no execution issues. A bad chess player isn't ever going to beat a grandmaster on a fluke, but we know flukes happen all the time in football.
