By the way, the WCHA certainly does not dominate the Top 10 and Top 20.

First off I misspoke. I forgot about the WCHA exodus to the NCHC. Bemidji state dominates a putrid conference. The weakest of the weak. They are #18 and the only other WCHA team is Minnesota State at #20. Contrast that to the NCHC which has 2 in the top 4, 3 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 20. Penn is in a better position because they also have Minnesota in the top 10 and Ohio State in the top 20. They are the only team with 2 losses and they have a tough enough schedule to gain some respect. I seriously doubt they will be there at the end of the season.

But, I do agree. The pairwise rankings leave a lot to be desired in no small part because of Penn States position. I also agree with SMF's point that it speaks volumes about the quality of the Big Ten that in just 5 years a team can go from having no hockey program to the top spot.

Bull$#*@. The WCHA is as good as ever. I love this conference and I wouldn't take the former teams back if they begged and pleaded.

Status: offline 		Minnesota State has spent more time at #1 in the country than pretty much anyone over the last several years. Ferris State made the Frozen Four just last season. Michigan Tech was one of the most skilled teams in the entire country last season. Bowling Green always puts out a solid team. Bemidji State has been consistently strong, with possibly the best goaltender in college hockey, and this year they have been dominant in league, while also performing very well vs. "powerhouses" North Dakota and Duluth. Not to mention, Bemidji is also the defending champion of the North Star Cup.

Dead serious. Quit hating on the Beavers. Get back to me when the Gophers actually WIN the North Star Cup. Or even win a game in the North Star Cup tourney.

1-12 in their last 13 vs other MN schools. Too scared to even schedule them anymore. There's a story that needs more run.

Looks like Minnesota State is out.

Session 1 - Friday, January 27
4 p.m. - Bemidji State vs. St. Cloud State
7 p.m. - Minnesota Duluth vs. Minnesota

Session 2 - Saturday, January 28
4 p.m. - Third Place Game
7 p.m. - Championship Game

I was pretty sure the Gophers were always guaranteed a spot. My cousin tried to tell me differently. He said the Gophers were out this year. At least he got the expansion draft info correct.
