Finlay was born in Duluth and grew up in Wisconsin

He has been an All Star a couple of times. Leiton sounds like a young player with a high skill level, but nobody is sure how good he will be.

They've got some promising your players. It's too bad it took them so long to bring some legit D talent. Atlanta is making them look pretty dumb and Minnesotan. The last part is synonymous for 'cheap'.

I'm still waiting for the Jesser review of the Loons's wheeling and dealing in the MLS Super draft. They wound up with 3 picks in the first round (7,15 & 23) and Chicago's goalie. The kid they picked at # 7 sounds really good. The reviews seem pretty positive. I'm sure Jeff is holding off on his review until the bran muffins work their way through his system.

Honestly they were good moves for the distant future but they nothing to move the needle for the upcoming season. They'll get better with experience but they've done nothing (in the franchise's existence) that makes me excited.

They won't admit it but it seems very Twins like. No splash, just hope the young guys can do something special before they have to be paid. Still not 1 designated player on the roster.

I know nothing about roster construction in soccer, but if I am working with a honeymoon period with an expansion franchise, I am more concerned with putting together long term foundation pieces than signing a big name or two, past their primes to generate excitement. To me those are the guys you add when your foundation is coming together. They also said their wheeling and dealing left them in good position to add more pieces in the coming year. Word is they are trying to get a player or two from Africa and South America instead of Norway, which is a good sign.

And let me tell you, they love their soccer in Iceland. It's all I heard about sports-wise in the bars over there. Passionate fans, especially in Reykjavic.

Maybe my last years rants came off wrong. They were hiring purely Scan's that I've never heard of. The right Scan's would have been fine. That's why I mentioned I don't care where they come from if they can play.
