Today was the 2018 Cragun's Club Championship. We played Bobby's course today. I played in the "First Flight" as usual. However, she did shoot a personal best 96, 1st time braking 100 at Cragun's, and got her first ever Eagle. She pitched in from 30 yards or so on #16 Bobby's. She did this with new clubs that she got Wednesday, 2nd round out with one trip to the driving range Wednesday. Nice accomplishment for her.

Yes I did. $$$ If you are average height, average swing speed it probably doesn't matter a whole lot. Brie is a little short so off the rack clubs wouldn't work as well. With our pro the fitting was free if we bought through him. He charged the standard price you'd see on Callaway's web-site. It was nice to see her hit them ahead of time and compare the stats from her current clubs to the new ones. About 20 yds per club difference, a little more with the driver. We also got to find the right mix of fairway woods and hybrids to cover the distances. She hit a 4 wood really well and went with that over a 3 wood for example.

Toying with the idea...struggling with club type....torn between Xstiff/Stiff.

We hit a different course each week all summer long. Previously she had only been on about 8 different courses in the Brainerd area. (drivers permit) She broke 100 3 times, Fergus Falls, The Pines, and Cragun's Bobby's. She got her first Eagle. She broke 50 on many 9's, just about every course we went to had 1 nine in the 40's.

Today we had our last trip of the summer down to a course called The Ponds near St. Francis. I had free passes from playing in a Scramble for work early in the year at The Refuge which is nearby. They have 3 9's at the Ponds, we played the White and the Blues, the other is the Red. That is a course you need to play a few times to know what is going on. There are a lot of blind shots and wetlands that sneak out near the fairways. I shot an 80 and she had a 103. She had 2 birdies and 2 10's, but played pretty well most of the time. She is still adjusting to the longer shafts on her new clubs, and that cost her by hitting the ground first a few times. I 3 putted a bunch early but eventually settled in with 10 pars and 8 bogey's. The White tees that I played from were in horrible shape, and there were several parts of the course that were pretty soggy and a couple of greens that had large dead spots but otherwise it was a pretty good course.

We might try to hit it some Sunday before the weather turns bad.

Has she played Eagle's Landing, Little Falls Country Club or Atikwa in Alexandria?

I've still never played LF. And probably never will. Haven't played at all in several years. When I do play, it's Eagle's Landing. The back 9 is very forgiving of a slice.
