We were outmanned and major underdogs with Murphy and Stockman. Without both of them we stood no chance. Gabe needs to find some level of consistency. Besides Coffey, Gabe, and Oturu, we need to add a lot of talent on this roster. Amazing we did as well as we did as thin as we were.

I think Carr is going to be good....Omersa actually showed me something (that he has a chance too). That being said Pitino needs to grab a JC guy or too also.

Just read a blurb in the Pioneer Press that said 2018/2019 is the first time the Gophers have ever won their bowl game and a NCAA tournament game in the same year. That is just fricken sad.

Was going to quietly sneak that comment in, too, somewhere (knowing it'll get me yelled at) …
I actually kinda liked Omersa during some stretches.
At least some of the "different" guys Pitino was forced to play Saturday night put up some fight.
It was disjointed, ugly, un-talented, but at least there was fight.

Hurt is unfortunately, not D1 material. He cannot create a shot, cannot get open.

NDSU Graduate Transfer:
North Dakota State forward Deng Geu announced Monday that he plans to graduate transfer for his redshirt senior season. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Geu averaged 9.6 points and 4.9 rebounds for a Bison team that did not have a senior this past season.

SDSU Coach change Transfer:
Sophomore David Jenkins Jr.
An All-Summit League first team selection, Jenkins appeared in all 32 games for the Jackrabbits during the 2018-2019 season, averaging 19.7 points on 45.8 percent shooting with a program-record 112 triples. He also logged 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

Amir Coffey
SF, College Player

According to Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Minnesota junior small forward Amir Coffey will enter the 2019 NBA Draft.
Coffey (6'8/210) has not closed the door on a return to Minnesota for his senior season, as the new NCAA rules allow players to hire an agent to aid with the pre-draft process (they cannot accept any compensation, however). This season the junior wing averaged 16.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 three-pointers per game with shooting splits of 43.6/30.4/74.0. Coffey spent a significant amount of time at the point down the stretch, with his development as a playmaker being a reason why the Golden Gophers reached the NCAA tournament. However, in order to maximize his NBA draft potential Coffey needs to show that he can consistently knock down perimeter shots.

Smart of him to do it....I don't think he will be a 1st round pick but he will be evaluated by NBA Front Offices and scouts and given an eval.

Coffey has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft, a source told the Star Tribune. Coffey, a 6-8 junior guard, will work with an agent, but he's still leaving open the possibility of coming back for his senior year.

After leading Minnesota in scoring (16.6) and assists (3.2) this season, Coffey is now taking advantage of new NCAA rules allowing non-seniors to fully go through the draft process and still retain their college eligibility. In August, the NCAA announced that college basketball players can hire NCAA-certified agents if they request an evaluation from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee to provide information on their draft stock.

The deadline to file that request is April 11. The paperwork for Coffey was submitted Tuesday, the source said.

Non-seniors who are invited to the predraft combine in Chicago also can remain in the NBA draft process and return to school if they go undrafted. Previously, the players declaring early for the draft had to withdraw their names 10 days after the combine on May 29. Invites for that combine will be delivered soon. The NBA draft is June 20.

I don't see Coffey going in the first round unless he has some jaw dropping workouts.

I think he is pretty iffy to even go in the second round.

My best guess is he tests the waters, finds out they are lukewarm at best and comes back for his senior season.

You basically can't recruit with only one year on your contract. I am not satisfied with the results but when you see the injuries (Jarvis, Springs, Curry) and expulsions (Lynch) ruin tourney runs and/or a chance for sustained success. Jarvis was the one that really hurt.....athletic pg that has Hank Gathers type heart condition and probably was his best recruit in that class with Jordan Murphy.

Matthew Hurt, the No. 8 recruit in the nation, commits to Duke over Kansas, Kentucky and UNC

Duke is poised to finish with the No. 1 recruiting class for a fourth consecutive cycle after adding five-star Matthew Hurt, the No. 8 overall prospect in the Class of 2019, to its recruiting class on Friday. Hurt chose the Blue Devils over Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.

He is ranked as the No. 2 power forward in the country, and the Rochester, Minnesota native rates out as the top prospect from his state.

Our top in state players never go to Minnesota, why even recruit them. To me that's just a waste of time when they could be out looking for kids that actually want to come here.

If you don't recruit them of course they never will. If you do recruit them it may turn around.

Jalen Suggs could very well be the next 5-star Minnesota kid to go to Duke next year.

Said that little Jones staying at Duke was the big thing.

Whee!

Pitino has so much work to get any of the really good ones to stay.

Plus you recruit a so-called stud like Washington and he leaves, never a good thing in recruits' eyes.

I hope they both get caught cashing their Duke booster checks and become ineligible to play for any NCAA team.

Living here in North Carolina, all you hear is Duke ....
Guess if I had a chance to play for Duke, I would
jump at the occasion too.

Just sad, that if you recruit a decent player, one year
and done normally.

I too hope the scoreboard falls on him.
Is Michael a senior this coming year?
