Would you concede a playoff spot (5;6,7) if it guarantees a whole regime change and conversely would you accept a late playoff seeding - a chip and a chair... if that meant keeping things the same...for at least 2022.

*keeping things the same win or lose WC weekend

ATM I want them in the playoffs and let 2022 play out as it will with Zimmer, Spielman, Cousins all in place.

I want to make the playoffs.

If we don't get to NFCCG, Zimmer and probably Speilman should be gone.

I've had enough of Zimmer's mediocrity, Spielman's terrible O-lines, and players dreaming of greener pastures. Flush this regime.

Zimmer has run his course. Everybody knows him MO now.

He's got a poor history against winning teams.

His players play hard, but often are outcoached.

Draft record is mediocre overall and downright terrible when it comes to the OLINE.

Draft strategy is trade down down down and add a bunch of lower level picks. instead of trading up and adding just a few new faces but much more highly talented players every year. Just plain dumb.

Drafting a QB should be a big consideration Every Year until you find a player like Brady, Rodgers, Wilson etc.

Then you should always be looking for a replacement.

I am done with this regime.

I want someone young and innovative to lead this team. Kingsbury, McVey, Even Kyle Shanahan, they need to find a young guy who players respond really well to and flexible to adapt his scheme to fit the players they have etc. Enough of the tired old dinosaurs.

Time to blow this shit up.

I dislike some things as much as a fan can. I can accept a complete dismantling. But until this one's over I just can't give up all hope. Or at least not be willing to jump back on when I've said/felt I'd had enough.

This team might be frustrating as hell but they're scrappy. Maybe the find themselves in games come the post season and win 1 or 2...3 if you believe in miracles.

I don't see them as *that teams but I'm not ready to give up the dream

I think a playoff birth ='s look what we overcame give us 2022. For sure a WC win would imo.

No.. **** no…

This team is coached by an idiot…

Whoever gave out big bucks to smith, Griffen, hunter, cousins, Breeland, Barr, Dozier, Bradbury, udoh, Patrick Peterson, the whole 1 year rental of players contracts…

That crap need to go.

Getting into the playoffs, where the competition and coaching is way better than our remaining schedule, is just setting the fans up for more of this crap, next year.

I’d rather not keep doing the same thing over and over, expecting luck and our opponents incompetence to gift us wins.

We pulled this win out of the ass of a penalty on a fake punt.
The chargers safeties tackled each other on 4th and goal to allow cousins to hit Conklin for a TD.

The Chargers beat some really good teams, the Vikings best win this season , was against the chargers, and it relied heavily on luck.

It’s packes @vikings this week and as long as Breeland is starting.. touchdowns for packers will fall like rain in the heart of the Amazon forest.

The tempered optimism shown by some now, at 4-5… is going to be tested.

Yea, I’m in full negative mode.

Can you blame me?

55 seasons of futility.. I’ve seen this dance at least 20 times.

make no mistake, zimmer still doesn't get it - and he never will...since the question above is obviously hypothetical, i'll be rooting for us to win every game and would love to make the playoffs, and of course win it all...but if i could control things, as the question asks, i'd forgo it all right now for a clean slate in 2022....

Good poll question. But IMO rather easy to answer: move on from this regime.

Banging your head against the wall and expecting a different outcome is the definition of stupidity.

But when game time hits, I still want them to win.

It's not really wins and losses that I'm looking for. I'm looking for the team to play well and most particularly I'm looking for them to play up to their potential. If we lose 31-28 against an excellent team and we made few penalties, called effective and smart plays, used our most talented players, looked prepared, and executed well then the loss doesn't bother me at all, in fact it will build excitement in me. Conversely, a win like we got vs. Detroit was pure garbage and nothing to feel proud of. Obviously the best result is a win where we played excellent and the worst is a loss in which we looked like trash. Week 3 vs. Seattle was a win where we played great and week 8 vs. Dallas was a loss where we played like trash. Week 9 at Baltimore was a loss that we played well in. Week 4 vs. Cleveland was a loss we played terrible in.

But what is the team's potential? Look at each position objectively.

QB - Good but also has issues
RB - Very good RB but poor OL
WR - Strength of team
TE - league average
OL - poor to middling

DL - who do we really have?
LB - one good LB
CB - forget it
S - an aged vet and a mix which is average at best

Although apparently we are top 10 in a lot of stats.

I was wrong about the puker game.. hope flashed.. then dashed..

Now the best we can do is 10-7, which requires 5 straight wins.. which I don’t see happening ..

Steelers, bears, rams, pukers, bears..

The way this team seems to be run, we suck the rest of the year, and no change next year.

I think we are stuck with Cousins…next year unless some team wants him badly…. That Fn 45 mill guaranteed contract is just insane…

But we don’t have to be stuck with Zimmer…

McVay is a fraud. The Rams are above water because he has immense talent on his roster.

If I'm the owner, I clean house today.

The only way I'd bring anyone back is if they made it to the Super Bowl.

If they lose the Super Bowl, they get one more year to win it.

If they win the Super Bowl, I don't care who gets lifetime contracts.

I don't think a lot of people understand how some of us feel about the urgency of winning a Super Bowl. I read arguments that this guy 'is better than most' or 'could be worse' or 'what's the difference between this average guy or that average guy' and it irritates me. I want a Super Bowl win. I don't give a shit about 9-8 or 10-7 and one-and-done or just missed the playoffs. I want to field a team that's capable of going to the Super Bowl and a coaching staff that is maximizing that ability and potential. If it's clear the player or coach isn't up to that task then I want them replaced as soon as reasonably possible - even if there's a chance that the next guy will be worse. Coaches should get five years and not one game more. Players should be great or elite to get rich extensions or we move on to the next guy.

I just want to win the Super Bowl. 13-4 and one playoff win then out means NOTHING to me. I've seen it already.

Now, if they go ahead and win a Super Bowl, my urgency is gone. They can hire Mike Priefer as head of cultural awareness and respect and Clay Mathews can be a door greeter and I'll still be all smiles from that day forward.

So much this. If the Vikings won just one, ONE Super Bowl in my lifetime, I can start going to and watching these games truly for entertainment purposes only. I know it's irrational and stupid, but many weeks it isn't even fun right now. Win one, and I can kick back. The Twins haven't won a WS in 30 years, but since I have those memories, to this day the bad (and there has been plenty) can't take that away.

Hell, Childress could have had a lifetime contract if they would have won in 2009 and I'd have been cool with it...

I want a HC change, and a QB change.

I got my wish 3 years later, ☺️.

I agree with all your points David and Paul, but I still enjoy every regular season win, and even some preseason games.
