Fascinating to watch this team lately. They ARE exactly what the men were a decade ago. More talent than others. More skill than others. Dominate games. Beautiful plays. Outstanding concept and attack. And ... Just like the men's team of that time ..... They lose some big games. Games they dominate. Games they impress in. Games they control. Feel bad saying it's frustrating, but it is. I guess that's why hockey is the greatest game.

Beat Wiscy when it really counted. Losing to them last week was tough, but you could feel the gals knew there were bigger things ahead. Really wish the men programs would take a clue from the women once in awhile.

Gov Dayton pretty upset that the game Sunday wont be available on TV for us. Cant agree more. Where's all that Title 9 power when you really need it?

Wisconsin clearly the nations second best team, the Sue very good as well. BC was actually better than I thought they'd be. Our goalie was a difference-maker all year. We were never dominant, we always had the better goalie. IMO.

I think the return of Kessel had a lot to do with it as well. Had she been there from the start, the Gophers would have had some dominant stretches this year.

On the hockey channel last night they showed Phil Kessel sitting on his team's bench and made a mention that his sister was just part of the women's hockey championship team. It occurred to me that we really need to stop characterizing Amanda as Phil's sister and rather just refer to Phil as Amanda's brother. [:D]

Bummer, they couldn't pull it off. But they're still one of the few sports teams that continues to make us proud year after year. I looked up the stats of Brad Frost and am wondering why he isn't coaching the Wild. Maybe next year? 12 years: 343-64-30 record 5 WCHA regular season titles 4 WCHA titles 4 NCAA titles I'd take that!
