ORIGINAL: Lynn G. It's not unusual in sports or life in general for one person to get punished for breaking the law (or league rule) even though others have done it before them. No court in the land will accept the "yeah, but other people do it too" defense when someone has been found committing a crime. I've heard that argument before, but the thought that the league is somehow targeting the Patriots seems absurd when you think about how successful that team has been and how much it means to the league. If anything I'll bet they had tons of internal discussions about this, wondering how they were going to actually "prosecute" the golden child. But in the end they decided they had to show that even the golden child can't get away with cheating. They went easy on Belichik for the videos of other teams walk-throughs and they knew they couldn't look the other way again. I agree remember in the NBA? All the under the table deals and finally they catch the Wolves and then Stern sent the message to the league through Minnesota? Roger is just as big of egomaniac Ass Clown as Stern and I never thought I would despise a Commissioner more or same as David Stern. The cell phone destroy does not bother me because he destroys all of his cell phones when he is done with them this was not the first time. Second like has been mentioned, many quarterbacks like to customize the footballs. Aaron Rodgers likes them over inflated. Notice no other quarterback currently in the league, has ever come out and cried foul on Brady. To me that silence speaks volumes. Not to mention there was no evidence of deflation, much less intentional deflation. yep, it wasnt the act, it was the cover up/lack of cooperation I'm completely not following that. There was no act, ergo no cover up/lack of cooperation. ??? that sounds a lot like your 'not a starter' even if you start 16 games spiel. an investigation can happen without an 'act', and then the investigation would/should conclude there was no 'act'. and a person can impede that investigation. investigations happen all the time that find out there was no 'act' YMMV Yes a person "can" impede an investigation, just no evidence of it here.
