We're the 14 game winners in our division.

The other 3 are in a race to be the 9 and 7, 10 and 6 wild card team. It could be any of 3.

SLIDE 15 / 16 - PACKERS: WILL WIN 14 GAMES THIS SEASON

(Photo: USA TODAY Sports)
"Having Rodgers back will help the Packers win at least 10 games. But with the additions the Packers made on both sides of the ball, they should be able to win 14 games which should give them home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It won’t be easy, but if the Packers can sweep the NFC North and win have a winning record against the AFC East and NFC West, they should be able to clinch the No. 1 seed." - Jones

I don't get where the guy sees 2 losses coming from.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (5/13/2018 9:48:38 AM)

I look at the Packers favorable schedule, who they play and when, and see 12 wins for them.

The Vikes COULD win 14, I am guessing they go 11-5.

I'm hoping the Vikes get great chemistry quickly, next year they might not have Richardson and a few others. I think Cousins will have is best season as a Viking in his 2nd season with the team.

To my knowledge, no QB has ever won a SB his first year with a team. ???

Based on his words, Rams and Patriots, since they're both road games?

What favorable schedule do they have? They play 12 of the same teams we do and in every one of those matchups, they have the same home and road schedule as us. So for the other two, is playing Carolina and Dallas THAT much different than the Saints and Eagles?

And this isn't counting two games against US.

IDK if this is true or not.

That's why getting Cousins was such a coup. Good QBs becoming available in their prime rarely happens.

69in09 -> RE: Other NFL News (5/13/2018 10:54:27 AM)

packers winning 14 games isn't realistic.

That's just some rag trying to get clicks.

I was speaking a bit tongue in cheek. Ya know, 14-2, why not just have then running the table? [;)] Where is that tongue in cheek smiley anyways?

Dilfer won his only year with the Ravens. Though he started as the backup.

I'd love us winning 14 games and it could happen, but I don't think to so to be honest.

Marty please stop it with your packer love. They are nothing special. I see them as 8-8 maybe 9-7. I think they get Swept by the Vikings this year and split with the Bears and Lions.

So you're saying the Pckers are the 14 game winners in our division.

Not even looking it up but pretty sure Kurt Warner did...
Didn't Russell Wilson too?
Seems like there are others.

No I said I doubt we win 14 games. In that comment I made no mention of the Pckers at all.

I looked it up a couple weeks ago. Warner was one I thought might have but he didn't. He played one game and went 4-11 passing.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (5/13/2018 10:26:40 PM)

Beo, wrong. Kurt Warner joined the Rams in 1998, won the Super Bowl in 2001.

Wilson was drafted 2012, led the 2013 team to a Super Bowl win, his 2nd season.

I don't know if ANY QB has led a team to a SB win their 1st year with a team. Let me know if you find one. Otherwise, maybe Cousins can be the first ?

Todd M -> RE: Other NFL News (5/14/2018 2:50:20 AM)

Yeah, beo, should have probably looked it up.

Marty, I know following along is hard, but I listed Dilfer, who I think might very well be the only one.

I also love that you came in to correct Beo and then gave inaccurate information. Warner came to the Rams in 98 and then they won in 99. Fail.

Todd M -> RE: Other NFL News (5/14/2018 7:13:09 AM)

After looking through it does look like Dilfer is the only QB to win a SB his first year with his team. Even though he started as the backup and only played the one year with the Ravens.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Other NFL News (5/14/2018 9:42:03 AM)

For everything there is a first time. I don't care if this is Cousins first year on the team. All the pieces are in place for a good run at it.

It's not easy winning it all..that is the only factor involved here.

Yeah, but Dilfer was such a stud that he should hardly count.[sm=icon_sarcasm.gif][

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (5/14/2018 1:12:59 PM)

Todd, I just knew Warner didn't do it his first year with the Rams. I was working quickly, looked it up on Wikipedia, saw MVP award and then SB MVP award, and got it a little mixed up. Warner had his 2nd MVP award the year I listed, and then SB MVP later.

Dilfer appears to be the only one who ever did it, so I guess it can be done. I just think it is tough, and unusual, but Cousins might be one of the better FA QBs to become available, I don't know about best, we'll have to see how he performs in the playoffs, assuming the Vikes make the playoffs.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (5/14/2018 3:50:24 PM)

But Ian, the Packers don't play Dallas or Carolina.

The Packers get Atlanta and Washington, that would be MUCH easier than Philly and NO. I think Atlanta is sliding and I think Washington will disappoint.

The Packers also get the Rams after a bye, and a soft schedule early and late.

I also think it's advantage for them to play SF game 5 so they get a little film on them. The Vikes will probably be big favorites against them game 1, and it could be huge loss if SF pulls an upset. It would be REALLY nice if the Vikes can win that one, and then SF plays a better game and gets an upset in Lambeau.
