Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/14/2016 8:16:34 AM)

Pretty sure it was in the morning before I went to bed.

Doesn't matter. Just another colossal screw job on Toddy! The world hates me and takes every chance it can get to stick it to me!

Or I screwed up. One or the other...[&:]

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/14/2016 8:36:19 AM)

Thank goodness it's just a pick pool on an internet site. If it was something important I'd suggest you sue. [:D]

thebigo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/14/2016 11:23:35 PM)

The last week that I was in I went to make my pick at like 7:27 PM CST on a Thursday before the Thursday night game. Then checked and saw the cutoff time was 5:25 pacific time.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/15/2016 2:45:59 AM)

Deadline to change pick: 10/13/2016 7:25 pm CD, thursday

the time the picks "close and lock" coincides with the listed kick off time for the thursday night game...

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/24/2016 10:25:15 AM)

Just two people left in the survivor pool. Toby and Tim will battle it out for superstar status!

Odd that six people lost their spot just by forgetting to pick. Is there a reduction of interest in this game? Should I not bring it back next season?

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/24/2016 11:10:24 AM)

Going against the Browns is working out wonders so far. Can't you restart it mid-season when I win next week? :)

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/24/2016 12:00:22 PM)

I think we can restart it at any time. Last year was the first time we did that because everyone was out in week two. When the time comes I'll try to hit the restart button and see what it does.

Good luck!

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/24/2016 4:01:37 PM)

Toby talking Smack. We both dodged the bullet the week that the Browns stole their loss from the jaws of victory against Miami. I stopped picking against the Browns that week. I believe they will win one. Bears have been one of my patsies. I will take an order of Minnesota this week and leave you to die by the Brown.

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/25/2016 11:35:42 AM)

[&:] I just realized I picked against the Browns week 7 by taking Cincy! Oops! I guess I have been subliminally picking the same as Toby most weeks. Outside of my GB hosting tired Giants week.

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/25/2016 2:02:32 PM)

I almost veered away from the Browns a couple times but in the end I couldn't, maybe this week. [;)]

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/25/2016 2:18:53 PM)

I fondly remember the year when I pretty much picked whoever was playing the Bengals that week. That was when the Bengals were super crappola, and my strategy served me quite well.

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/26/2016 11:04:20 AM)

Almost went with the Jets against the Browns but couldn't do it. We both have the Vikes so we both either move on or die this week.

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/27/2016 1:18:08 PM)

Nice!

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (10/27/2016 1:28:10 PM)

I am actually flirting with picking Cleveland to win in the picks pool. I have thought so much and so little of the Jets this year. Every year there is that team that I think can beat anybody and lose to anybody. Early on it was Jets, now I don't think they can beat anybody.

Houston is like that. Although now I know they are what they have always been since they became better than terrible and that is a team that can beat up on crappy teams and flirt with but ultimately get schooled by good teams.

Baltimore is now officially terrible.

Oakland does remarkably well on road, so remarkable that they are due to lose on the East coast to an inferior Tampa team in my opinion. Detroit I was high on them early and they choked at Green Bay, I got down on them and now they win 3 in a row and just as I pick them this week there is no doubt in my mind they most likely will lay an egg on the road.

You're a man of Honor Mr. Stumbo!

Lynn time for a Reset! The field is officially Dead!

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/1/2016 12:10:34 PM)

Congrats to Tim and Toby for winning the first round!

Okay - the Survival Pool is officially reset. I'll put the word out on the Viking thread too.

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/1/2016 2:23:40 PM)

Thanks for the reset Lynn!

Usually I consider it was risky taking a road team. But it was the Vikings against the hapless Bears! Instead we got the Cutler, as Brett Farve for Halloween, led Bears last night! Accurate and improvisational lasers and shovels!

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/2/2016 8:14:31 AM)

Booo, it's our fault they lost. Good one Tim! [:-]

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/2/2016 8:25:36 AM)

It sounds like if you want to take a chance on a road team - make it Oakland. [:D]

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/4/2016 5:02:13 PM)

The site isn't letting me make a pick.

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/4/2016 8:14:41 PM)

Did you wait too long? The pick would have had to be in before Thursday's game started.

Toby Stumbo -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/5/2016 10:27:21 AM)

yep, guess I did. doh

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (11/5/2016 10:30:15 AM)

Well good thing you were the co-winner of the first round because otherwise how would you live with that misstep? [:D]

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/3/2017 10:06:59 AM)

The Survival Pool has slipped in interest over the past few years. Is there interest in doing it again or should we let it die a quiet death?

I'll ask the same about the Picks Pool in that thread.

Ian Joseph -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/3/2017 1:43:27 PM)

I'm interested in the survival pool.
