Man he caught that thing on about 3 fingertips! Wow

Admit it: There were few things as joyous as watching Randy Moss lose it. Now, it's as if those Raiders years -- when he caught a combined 102 passes for 11 touchdowns -- are a long-lost memory. His quarterbacks stunk. He was playing in a high school offense under the direction of a B&B manager, Tom Walsh. And it messed with Randy so bad that he wasn't a Pro Bowler anymore, wasn't even a legit team distraction. Remember when he tried to pop off about how things were going and uttered this nonsense: "It's crazy around here, man. It's something that we're trying to hold on to, man, and, hopefully, coach Art can move us in the right direction, man, so I'm just trying to stay away from all of that stuff this year, like I did last year, and hopefully, we can win some games." Man, those were good days. But look at Moss now. Not only has he caught 11 touchdowns, but he's praised by Tom Brady as a "leader." When Moss steps before the cameras, he's poised and spouting the same, boring School of Belichick quotes as every other Pat. He's happy, content and finally playing well for a winning organization. It's so sad.

I wish I could do that trick! :oops:

Guest -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/14/2007 5:38:44 AM)

Has there ever been a NFL player treated as unfairly by the media as Randy Moss? Hell, even half of Viking fans didn't like him.

Guest -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/14/2007 6:37:22 AM)

The Hoiseth half??

John Childress -> Re: The one-tricker thread (11/19/2007 4:33:37 AM)
Hey guys, did you see the one-tricker is pulling the same garbage he did in Oakland? Probably won't play again due to his hamstring.
Yup, the one tricker sure is done. Too bad Moss and Owens were never on the same team. They would have been the greatest of all time.

John Childress -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/19/2007 4:53:40 AM)

Brady just missed Moss for #4 Comes right back and does it again

Guest -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/19/2007 7:14:26 AM)

There is not a better receiver in all of football.....and if he stays with the Patriots the rest of his career nobody will ever remember he played in Minnesota outside of Minnesota. The guy is that damn good! Look out Jerry, the top spot you hold is in danger........One trick my ass!

John Childress -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/19/2007 5:12:01 PM)

Man, these guys still hate Moss:
quote:

4. Randy Moss, WR, New England. Is there any doubt that, barring injury, Moss will have the best year of a borderline Canton career? This is his 10th season. He has 16 touchdown catches through 10 games. He's had two 17-TD years.
Come on Peter, borderline HOF career?

Come on Peter, borderline HOF career? Peter can't see past his bias. Like many others, ahem. Bottom line about Moss's trick is that there may be a few faster than him (very few), there are certainly WRs that run better patterns, there's a few that have (had) as good or better hands (C. Carter), but never in the history of the game has there been anyone that adjusts to the flight of the ball from the moment it leaves the QBs hands, puts himself in the right position, and goes up to get it even in double or triple traffic. That's his ultimate trick and also why he makes QBs look soooo good. Just chuck it up and I'll get it - they can't jump with me Goolllleeeeee!

Steven JL -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/19/2007 10:11:26 PM)

As far as them running up the score Moss could have had 8 TDs last night, no problem. I almost hope pre Jets game one of the Jets talks smack about Randy. I'd love for the Pats to have one more reason to run the score up and feed it all through Randy.

Will tear apart a sub-.500 club.... but will lift a good team to greatness and a great team to immortality.
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/11682122.html Good article on Moss
************************************************ Funny how almost every single PLAYER says the same things about Moss compared to every member of the media. Of course some of them are now backtracking rapidly, hoping that nobody remembers what they said about him before.

Tim Cady -> RE:The one-tricker thread (11/22/2007 8:50:22 AM)

MVP The Boston Globe broke down the numbers and determined that WR Randy Moss has been involved in 500 of a possible 583 offensive snaps. That's 84 percent -- or just 16 percent less than Tom Brady's success rate when he asks someone out on a date. All the Randy haters gotta lookat this and go I know the political correct choice is Tom Brady, but the real MVP is my favorite footerballer ever Randy Moss.

Jason Dorn -> RE: RE:The one-tricker thread (12/27/2007 2:50:01 PM)

Hey Brad still think Moss is a one-tricker...this article ought to send you straight to the fess-up thread.

Very Good Article!

Jason Dorn -> RE: RE:The one-tricker thread (1/4/2008 9:27:47 AM)

The one tricker thread created by Brad H (anyone want that dubious distinction)

Ahh, where is the creator of this thread, oh yeah creating the other angle with his get rid of Troy Williamson.

So Brad H, just to keep you up to speed, the one tricker just broke the single season TD mark, in fact that may actually beat or match the entire Viking receiving corps the last two seasons.  Moss has been applauded by his teammates and coaches for his all around ability.  Good thing talent evaluators like yourself had him pegged as washed up, great job...note to Vikings PASS on Colt Brennan.

Oh how wrong you were, I remember during the trade all of those kind words you had about Moss and his disruption to the team, of course the Vikings fortunes have improved so much without him.

Anyone who was in favor of this trade truly knows zilch about football, talents like Moss come around once a generation maybe, when you have them you keep them.  He was happy as a Viking, wasnt demanding a trade like Owens, yet actual Viking fans wanted him gone...UNREAL.

Congrats to former Viking Moss, the fans would have never traded you, a record, a perfect season, but most importantly vindication upon your smeared character.

twinsfan -> RE: RE:The one-tricker thread (8/15/2020 2:07:03 PM)

I just wish Moss would have taken his career more seriously. He had decent longevity, but a great receiver should remain great into his mid-30s or even late-30s. He was a liability for most of the 2nd half of his career.
