Here Jake Browning seems to have an arm. Wasn't that one of the knocks on him?

https://twitter.com/i/status/1157031221958008837

I predict Browning makes the team and becomes a reliable backup QB before his career is over.

As long as he has Dillon Mitchell to throw to.

What was that one, 50 yards in the air?

In other injury-related news, Vikings cornerback Mike Hughes was seen on Thursday without a leg brace around his surgically repaired knee. Hughes is still on Minnesota’s PUP list, but him ditching the brace certainly seems like a good sign.

Hughes being ready for the start of the season would be MASSIVE. I see him as a potential multiple time pro bowler if he comes back fully from last years injury.

It would be great to have him ready, but the knee injury he suffered was pretty bad. Maybe by the midpoint of the season he could give it a shot, but I hope he comes back 100%, whenever he returns.

And that defense to throw against.

Could tear up thinking about how far I’ve come. (Kris Boyd on Twitter)

He's getting some votes for Mr. Mankato.

Man this draft could really set us up for a wide open window. I mean this draft and I guess a continued run where we are adding guys all up and down the draft and even UDFA.

I hope we all live for at least another decade (and obv most will) cause it could be quite the ride.

A lot has changed over the years but the baseball guys have always had a really good camaraderie. And way less of the type of flame wars that has decimated the football talk side of things. This really should be Talk Twins at this time with the football side being the alt threads.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/2/2019 2:22:36 PM)

Gary Kubiak said today that Irv Smith Jr. is "swimming" because of all they're trying to teach him in the offense. But he likes the different skillsets of Smith, Kyle Rudolph and Tyler Conklin. Still no word on David Morgan's timeline, who's probably the team's best blocking TE.

Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
Veteran CB Mo Claiborne, one of the top unsigned players, is facing a 4-game suspension for violations of the substance abuse policy, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. He’s appealing and it could be reduced. This would explain why a player as proven as he is would remain a FA.

Eric Thompson@eric_j_thompson
Beebe starts the day holding from Cutting and McDermott. Shamar Stephen is in pads today.

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
A number of Vikings veterans are not in Pads today could be mostly for rest They include Kyle Rudolph Harrison Smith Riley Reiff Josh Kline Everson Griffen.

and xavier rhodes....

Indications are he will be ready much sooner than mid season. Of course you don't rush him, but I'm optimistic of having him for game one.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/2/2019 4:14:58 PM)

It will be exciting to watch Irv Smith Jr.'s role this season. His route running skills and quickness out of breaks will make him a tough cover when he gets mismatches. #Vikings corner

"It’s worth noting Dan Bailey is now 20-for-27 in camp"

Bailey is going on his third year hitting at a 75% clip. If they stick with him, it's with eyes wide shut.

I'm jealous of the conversations at Twins talk. Over here I'm talking to myself. Maybe I have bad breath.

You're trying too hard, imo. But you do deserve a pat on the back, though.

This site will have to save itself. The Vikings being an elite team this year might help.

Crazy how it was popping in 98 and through the years ...

The Twins are also finally winning. Normally they are mathematically eliminated by June. [&o] Winning helps a lot. We have great camaraderie in the Wild thread too but it's been getting less active as we continually flame out. At some point apathy takes over.

Me thinks we start the season, and get rolling this place will populate.

Pretty sure most of the guys I know that have left the board have probably forgot the final flame war that caused them to stop posting in here , and if we indeed get hot they may be back. Or maybe not...
