I don't know if this has been posted on this forum already, but it's really an in depth damning of how Cousins was really set up to fail by the Vikings. Puts a real perspective on how there was a lot of dysfunction and ineptness with the organization that led to the team's demise last season.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DuPUG9FfrY9c&ved=2ahUKEwiH6q-VnPnjAhUHbq0KHSdYCkoQwqsBMAh6BAgFEAU&usg=AOvVaw0gJM07wD81tlMZNBq7f4jk

That was good stuff. We all know the line sucked last year, but so did the coaching. The QB gets the glory and the shit. Always has been always will be.

Nice article in review.

Steve Lentz -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/10/2019 5:58:02 PM)

Looking forward to a much improved line and the addition of Kubiak.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/10/2019 7:58:20 PM)

I hope O'Neill will be good to go soon. I believe he will.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/11/2019 6:36:36 AM)

If we keep Treadwell this year we possibly get a compensatory pick next year if he gets picked up in free agency. Still, he just doesn't seem to belong this year to me and a lot of other people.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/11/2019 8:16:44 AM)

I absolutely missed the first one and love it.

We have grades good and bad of individual players here throughout the lineup.

Blasingame is fast for a fullback. Bodes well for making the final 53 as he would likely do well on special teams.

Of all the shortcomings pointed out in the video, getting out-coached in the New England game bothered me the most. Drops, missed blocks, miscommunication, and fumbles happen, but difficult to understand how they could be so poorly prepared to face the Patriots.

Ben Goessling@GoesslingStrib
The Vikings signed former Saints tackle (and former Gopher) Nate Wozniak, and released guard Tyler Catalina to make room for him.

Arif Hasan@ArifHasanNFL
Vikings list him as 6'10" 302 (weighed 268 at his pro day). 34 1/8" arms
Wondering if this tells us anything about Aviante Collins.

some highlights - copy paste....

Ben Gedeon was the only linebacker to play well - all the rest were bottom half performers - including the starters.

Kentrell Brothers was the worst graded, and Eric Wilson, Cameron Smith and Devante Downs weren’t far behind. They struggled in different facets, but none of the linebackers outside of Ben Gedeon graded well.

Brett Jones was the highest graded offensive lineman, followed by Riley Reiff. Those two were the only two OL with decent run blocking grades too. Guards John Keenoy and Danny Isidoradid surprisingly well, as did tackles Tyler Catalina and Oli Udoh - albeit with the third team.

It was a bit surprising to see Holton Hill getting the most reps at CB, considering his doghouse status, but it also is a sign they want to keep him, despite the suspensions, because he is very promising. Hill was also the highest graded CB on the Vikings roster other than Nate Meadors - who was tops due to his rather fortuitous interception.

While Nate Meadors was the top rated defensive player, according to PFF, that came entirely on his gift interception, so I discount that heavily. After Meadows, Jalyn Holmes was second, followed by Armon Watts, Ben Gedeon, Anthony Harris, and Ifeadi Odenigbo.

Eric Wilson's mom must be pitching a fit.

Blasingame could be a good backup to Mattison, in my opinion.

Vikings have a new kicker. Or punter. Or both...

I think I'm excited!

we gave up a 2020 5th rounder so this is serious...this guy is our new kicker....

it'll probably save us $500k in cap space...if he's our punter, too, it'll save us $1.145m....

blasingame can also play two positions - rb/fb - if we need him at rb then we can use morgan as fb for a game....

between blasingame and vedvik we can add two players to our roster....

Chad Beebe holding for #Vikings’ Dan Bailey in practice today. Bailey just went 3 for 3.

Line drive kickoffs...

Dan Bailey now 5/7 so far today.

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
Mike Zimmer said he has no comment on this report. Says, "I really like Dan Bailey.''

Told new #Vikings specialist Kaare Vedvik is en route to Minnesota now and is expected to be made available to reporters tomorrow. Both Dan Bailey and Matt Wile were escorted off the practice field today and not made available to media.

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
Punter Matt Wile ran to the locker room after practice while a Vikings official said he would not be giving any interviews.

Arif Hasan@ArifHasanNFL
After hearing Zimmer's more than effusive praise for Bailey and discussion of the snap-hold portion of the kicking operation as well as Beebe taking all the holds ... I think Vedvik is primarily coming to punt.

Courtney Cronin@CourtneyRCronin
Both Matt Wile and Dan Bailey were not made available after practice today, so we’ll find out more about the ensuing competition once Kaare Vedvik arrives in camp tomorrow.

Paul Allen@PAOnTheMic
Sure new guy is here to kick? Hmmm, must have steam.
