Zion Williamson measurements. 6'5" 290 is what I saw posted. I couldn't confirm it with a google search. Isn't that a couple inches shorter than expected? Maybe that's barefoot.

I thought he was at least 6'6. But that doesn't surprise me looking at him He's very compact.

And that doesn't worry me a bit. People worried about what 'number' he'll play in the NBA don't get it. He'll just be a great basketball player, period. No need to pigeonhole him.

Zion, Ja, Barret and Garland weren't measured at the combine.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/15/2019 9:21:25 PM)

So I'm 6'4. Zion is only an inch taller than me. So you're telling me if not for the fact that I'm a 50 something year old white guy with two bad knees I'd have a chance against him.

Nope it's more than just that. [&:]

So they put Brandon Clarke in with the SFs for athletic testing instead of PFs.

And he blew them away...

How did Clarke do so well with his T-Rex arms. Because's he's an insanely superior athlete.

David Levine -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/16/2019 6:44:47 PM)

Dean Demakis@deanondraft
Wingspans of players who were underrated in draft and became defensive studs:

Siakam: 7'3.25
Giannis: 7'3
Kawhi: 7'3
Millsap: 7'2
RobCov: 7'2
Draymond: 7'1.25

Wingspan is super important for perimeter D. If there's a secret D stud in this draft, it's PJ Washington @ 7'2.5"

David Levine -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/16/2019 6:49:03 PM)

I'm totally unsure about Clarke at this point.

His game and skillset are of a 4/5, but he has the body and athleticism of a 2/3.

I'm not sure how he's going to translate. You can be a 6'6 Center and thrive in college. Trying to do the same against guys who are bigger, stronger and faster than 95% of what you faced in college is a big ask.

His entire career may come down to how well he's able to shoot.

David Levine -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/19/2019 11:10:30 AM)

Career high 34 points (8/11 2P, 5/7 3P) 9 rebounds in 29 minutes for 18-year old projected lottery pick Sekou Doumbouya in an important win for Limoges tonight. Nice momentum for him going into the French playoffs starting next week.

Highlight's from Sekou's game. If he's there at 11, I absolutely take him in a heartbeat.

kgdabom -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/19/2019 1:10:48 PM)

How many years should Doumbouya be expected to spend in the G league.
At least one and likely two. I can't imagine he would be ready to make any significant contribution until at least his third year.

One game. He's averaging 6.8 points and 3 rebounds. He has a very long way to go but might emerge around the end of his rookie contract.

David Levine -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/19/2019 1:23:22 PM)

I think Sekou likely goes to Atlanta or Washington, but if he's there at 11, we HAVE to take him.

He's a risk, but he has EASILY the most star upside of anyone we could pick. Youngest player in the draft, but he already has an NBA body (he looks like a man among boys playing with guys well older than him), and the skills are clearly visible. Handle is decent already and looks like it'll become a weapon as he matures, and I love the pretty arc on his 3 point shot.

I don't expect much from him as a rookie, but I'm sure the Bucks really regret drafting Giannis considering he was virtually unplayable his first year...

I wouldn't hate picking him, but for every Gianis there are 20 players that never do anything.

kgdabom -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/23/2019 4:06:09 PM)

What are the chances we take a center if he's the BPA? I'm thinking of Hayes, Bol, and Bitadze in particular.

There were a lot of players taken before Gianis that never did much either. The teams that can do the best job developing their young players are the real winners.

Go Lakers!

kgdabom -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/25/2019 6:38:28 PM)

Any thoughts about taking one of the uber athletic guards Lecque or Bone?

David Levine -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (5/28/2019 4:45:20 PM)

Jonathan Givony✔@DraftExpress
Rui Hachimura and De'Andre Hunter both worked out today in front of NBA teams at their agency's Pro Day this morning, dispelling any notion they've received a "promise" from a NBA team. Their presence today helped draw a lot of eyeballs on their agency's lesser prospects.

The more I think about Hayes the more I like him. He can be a rich man's Clint Capela.

Atlanta. I think they want White or the French dude.

I think the new scout guy likes the French dude and I think the numbers folk like White (in terms of what they can move up to).

Intersting.

I'm not a big White fan, but I love Sekou.

kgdabom -> RE: 2019 NBA Draft (6/7/2019 1:53:19 PM)

Trade Teague and #11 plus filler for Russell and call the first round of the draft over.

@Mike_Schmitz

Sekou Doumbouya knocking down 15 threes in a row with close to 10 general managers on hand. Doumbouya certainly showed his talent during the 45-minute workout. 6-10 versatile athlete with skill potential.
