We got the Winter Classic! After Dallas……you're an absolute asshole Bettman, I wish you no good but no harm. He loves kicking us in the Chimi's.[&o]

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/3/2020 6:59:34 AM)

Yeah, I saw we got the Winter Classic and my first thought was, "I hope the NHL pumps millions into the production and the game has to be postponed or canceled due to -30 degree temps."

Lynn G. -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/3/2020 9:50:48 AM)

That would just let Bettman confirm that he was right to hold off on awarding the game to Minnesota.

I hope that the NHL pumps millions into the production and it becomes the best Winter Classic in the history of the universe.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/3/2020 2:00:05 PM)

I watched the Blues and Avs last night
And I still have NO CLUE how we beat the Avs. [:-]

From the Athletic:

Who were the NHL’s 5 most mediocre teams of the decade?
1. Minnesota Wild: It feels like it couldn’t be anyone else, right? The Wild finished the decade with three more wins than losses. They made the playoffs more often than not (six times), but when they got there they only won 15 playoff games and never made it out of the second round. They finished with 80-something points five times but never worse than that, never were bad enough to pick in the top five, and never had anyone win a Hart, Norris, Calder, Jack Adams or Vezina, and are the only team other than the Knights who’ve never had a Hall-of-Famer.

They were interesting for one day in 2012 and one week last summer, and the rest of the time you kept getting them mixed up with the Stars. Their captain is Mikko Koivu and their logo is a bowl of lukewarm oatmeal.

They’re the 1950s Canadiens of being the 1980s Jets. They’re fine.

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/4/2020 11:19:47 AM)

So why do I even bother with this team?
All I can see in the future is of more of the same ......
Most likely will be another matinee whooping from the Jets in our house in a few hours.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/4/2020 5:03:32 PM)

That's a pretty frightening (because it's true) blurb.

TJSweens -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/5/2020 9:44:25 AM)

What do you know. A replay review finally went our way. No matter how much Paul Maurice whines about it, Parise was clearly pushed into the goalie on the game winner.

I think I like Foligno better with Ek and Kunin than Greenway. They got us our two regulation goals.

It seems what ever line Foligno is on, that is our best line of the game. The guy has been our best and most consistent player this season.

Agree
Foligno is a stud

That is an awesome evaluation

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 9:50:31 AM)

Ugly loss to the Flame

had 'em
Let 'em off the hook
Several times.

Stalock got his one game this month, and got us the one point.
Several great stops late, or we lose in regulation
The boys weren't buying into D much yesterday
1-3 on the latest homestand
We are back into that … "oh goody, we can relax, we are at home" mode again [X(]

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 9:51:40 AM)

Open ripping on Greenway by BB in the post gamer
He's had it with the kid, apparently.
He was better yesterday actually, but BB has some built-up anger working with him.

Sadly, I don't think it could have been any more spot on.

I think he has a lot of expectations of him. That's why he bumped to the first line with Staal and Zuccarello. He isn't going to tolerate inconsistency when he puts his faith in a player like that.

twinsfan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 10:36:41 AM)

Now I see the Wild logo isn't just a few trees and a moon.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 10:45:45 AM)

Btw, Dumba is on a historically-bad streak.
Has he scored in a month?
A year?
Isn't he here, solely because he's offensive?
Unreal how we find these guys

So, you're saying that he is Jonas Brodin without the defensive skills.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 10:58:15 AM)

We keep throwing him into the catbird's seat on the PP ….
Its time people stop squawking about Suter being out there, and wonder what in the hell Dumba ever did to earn that spot.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 11:00:01 AM)

I'll take a dozen of Suters wristers into the goalie over Dumbas "whee, theres a breakout the other way for ya" as he misses the net again
Walz says last night … "Dumba really needs a goal"
SMF screams at TV …. "Dumba really needs to hit the GD net!"

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/6/2020 11:47:33 AM)

When did the "captain" come back again? [sm=whistling.gif]

I have to admit I'm one of those that complains about Suter on the PP, but I have to agree with you on this one. At least Suter is smart about his shot selection. Dumba has been exactly what Sweens said.....Brodin without defensive skills. The sad thing is, he has been so bad I doubt any team would trade a bag of pucks for him right now.....we are stuck with him for now.

The only thing he has accomplished in the past year … is completely ruining his trade value.
You're right on. No one asks about him at this point.
He's barely hanging on to the fifth spot in the rotation most nights.

Lynn G. -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (1/7/2020 10:21:49 AM)

Kahkohnen has been recalled under "emergency conditions." I hope that isn't a bad sign about Dubnyk's wife. But any kind of emergency sounds dire.
