Two views at 56:35. Coaches tape.

Looks like Elf was double teaming the NT, who shot low so quick, both he had Bradbury didn't move him at all. Reiff trying to block down on the UT (96) who was split out pretty wide lining up on the inside of Reif's RT shoulder. 91 DE just stood up. #20 blitzing through the gap.

I think had Case not been concussed there may have been a different outcome last night. Case was targeting Rhodes and moving them down field and AD was running with purpose.

That lame ass qb sneak on 4th n one in our own territory could have been more costly had Case been in there.

Too me this screamed of Zim losing patience. Thinking we should be dominating them or something. It was an unecessary risk.

It was a dumb decision to go for it. and a dumb play call once they decided to go for it.

It was a dumb decisoin because we were winning against a moribund team forced to use a raw rookie QB, pin them deep and let the defense do it's job.

Once they made that dumb decision, they made a really dumb decision to do a QB sneak. Dalvin Cook had a far better chance of making that yard than Cousins did in any circumstance.

i don't know what Zim was thinking there.

The vikes loooked flat, uninterested and the secondary was allowing big catch after big catch. This game was very much in jeopardy until Case left with the concussion.

I had no problem with them going for it. Zim new the raw rookie wasn't going to shit even they didn't make it. I had a big problem with them calling the one play that was almost guaranteed to fail.

I wasn't worried about Haskins either so I didn't mind the decision to go for it.

QB sneaks are one of the safest ways to pick up a yard, I think over 80% conversion rate. I didn't mind the playcall.

I have issue with the execution. Elf blocked no one, Bradbury got beat, and Cousins didn't seem to make a great read and get drive.

They ran it behind Kline, did Elf's guy get across to stuff the play?

Play number 5.

You can see two guys come in from Cousins left, number 20 hits Cousins high, the other guy is low. Number 65 is rolling around on the ground 3 yards ahead.

IDK what Elf's assignment is, but I don't think he executed it.

Looked like Elf flat out missed the guy right in front of him.

Like to see that from a different angle. Either way it's getting tough to justify why this guy is in there.

Overhead shot around 1:50
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k95g59Mg-yg

Looks to me like Elf is supposed to double team a tackle and whiffs it... if he drives I think they make it.
It was a good play by the def tackles though.... held strong.

Looks to me that the defenders from the left only get in on the play because the defenders on the right have completely stuffed the play at the attempted point of incursion, behind Kline and Bradford.

NFL announces that the two four-game suspensions are officially over for #Vikings CB Holton Hill. They have a roster exemption throughout next week so they don't have to make an immediate roster move to create room for him on the 53.

(Please get it together HH)

Is it possible Washington really isn’t as bad as their record shows with Jay Gruden out? I mean they played San Fran tough too. https://t.co/40mni7SLLk

IMO their record is deceiving.
Very good lines on both sides of the ball.
It was no shame they stuck with us.
They are loaded with physical, solid players.

Are you kiddin' me? They are now 1-7. Their win came against the Dolphins, and they won, because the Dolphins went for 2 and failed, instead of putting the world through more misery with overtime.

The Redskins are horrible. They are even worse when they have to insert the rawest of rookie QB's, mid-game.

Hey, I love the result last night, hate the way we looked.

We beat a horrible team and then we talk them up. Why? The Redskins suck.
We have a lot of work to do.

Just like the whole, "it's hard to win on the road in the NFL" thing. It's not. Last week more road teams won than the home teams. It happens often. Good teams win on the road.

Perspective; our defense had the pleasure of facing two rookie back up QB's and one veteran back up QB. The veteran back up beat us.

Our elite run defense also had the pleasure of facing Freeman, Jacobs (sick and reportedly 10 pounds under weight) Montgomery, Ty Johnson/McKissic and Hillman. Not Gallman, and definitely not Barkley.

The best RB we faced was Jones, and I certainly don't consider him elite, yet he put 150 scrimmage yards on us.

I love the W's, but we would be foolish to think that everything is fine.

We don't suck, but we certainly don't look like the best team in the league, or the conference, or maybe even the division.

The defense whisperer allowed Keenum to slice him. Chase Daniel did the same.

We have some dead weight on offense; Rudolph and Treadwell, duh. But our defense is loaded with players. I think they are underachieving.

Speaking of that, why in the world did we end up with Rhodes manning the slot multiple times?

In summary, the Redskins suck really bad. They are only better than the Dolphins because of one failed conversion attempt. They are worse than the Bengals.

Elite defense? Patriots have played a soft schedule, but if their offense never scored a point this season, they still would have won 3 games.

JT2 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/25/2019 11:47:15 PM)

Yeah, Bruce, they played the Niners tough. They scored ZERO points. Did you watch any of that game? They played in a monsoon.

I get it, every team we beat is great. The teams that beat us cheat.

Despised seeing AD when he came back with the Saints
But I thought last night was very cool
I'm not an AD lover but was very glad the fans showed him respect.
And have to admit he looked damn good yet. There's still some life in those legs.
That said. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo glad to have Cook and Mattison. Love where our running game is today.

I don't man. I had the thought that it was pretty telling that he was joking and playing it up on the sidelines during the 4th quarter. You are 1-6 and losing pretty bad on a national stage. Have a little pride. I would have been pissed.

Thank you.

Which team are you loyal to Right Now?

Legacy and him always more important than team. It continues.

I wonder if he also looks fondly upon the Minnesota banks he has defaulted (or defrauded) loans with.

Yet, unsurprisingly, Minnesota nice still loves him.

Which team are you loyal to Right Now?

Legacy and him always more important than team. It continues.

I wonder if he also looks fondly upon the Minnesota banks he has defaulted (or defrauded) loans with.

Yet, unsurprisingly, Minnesota nice still loves him.

If he wasn't a professional athlete....

Thought it was nice, what some people in attendance did for him, was all I was saying.
I probably wouldn't have been one of them.
Always have to walk on egg shells around here, don't we?
Jeff and Pete, you're two of my favorite people in this damn place most days, figured you'd know me better than that by now.
Wasn't asking for a damn statue. I guess the Mn people could have thrown poo on him like a bunch of monkeys, then it would have been cool.
Was a nice win that got us to 6-2. That was a tiny part of it. I should have left it at that.

Any body see Elf's Pff number?

His grade for the season seems to have gone up after this game...I don't recall it being this high previously.

Elf missed one game so 452 plays/7 games = 65 plays/game, 6 games would be 75 play/game

Im referring to last night's game. I saw it in a tweet earlier but could not find it just now. About 4th on the Vikings if i recall correctly

They rated his pass blocking a horrible 28.5 but his run blocking was a fantastic 80.3. Rudolph had the lowest rating of any Viking on offense. Eric Wilson played one snap. One snap.

So if he had to be much better at one than an other Id say he made the right choice .... no?

AD said he caught himself whistling the Vikings "SKOL" chant to himself at times during the game.

Xavier Rhodes and Ben Gedeon were the two lowest rated defenders at 30.2 and 30.3.

Don't understand what Zim see's in Gedeon.

Elf's number is surprising to say the least.

Thought Bradbury looked really good esp on the screens.

I thought it was a nice gesture as well and I'm not a big fan of the person.

Why should I be offended if he's joking on the sideline? I don't pay his salary. I'm not a stockholder of any banks.

If a player gets injured, should we check their Twitter feed, do a background check, make sure he's an angel before doing the human/nice thing?

Should we bring pitchforks and torches to every game so when we are righteously offended we can take care of it the right way?

SMF, You have nothing to apologize for.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/26/2019 9:32:59 AM)

I have no problem with AD enjoying the moment on the sideline.

Just because their losing I see no reason why he can't embellish with his success.
