Players all turned on Bard. He was a complete A Hole. Moss did us a solid cuz he seen it right away and wanted no part of it.

However, if Zim keeps playing Rhodes he could lose the team.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 7:22:18 AM)

Our defense has now slipped to

20th yards /g
15th rushing
20th passing
10th points

Thats not acceptable considering the resources invested.

The talent is there. Just have to give Rhodes help or move him somewhere else on the field (bench included).

Except Moss was an asshole, too. Mixed bag to be sure, because he did good things, but he did a lot of asshole things with the Vikes.

Strictly based on haters perception.

So defensively, considering NOTHING matters other than PPG, where are we at?

The D was very good today, but of course should have been against this QB.

kgdabom -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 6:14:13 PM)

Congrats to the Vikings on a good game. Now need to run the table.

SteveR -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 6:42:28 PM)

Vikings took care of business. I was able to check the score a couple times. It looked like a nice boring game that was never in doubt. Good one to miss then. The next three should be a lot more interesting.

SteveR -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 6:51:33 PM)

Zimmer vs. Chilly...that's an interesting topic.

I'd have to think about that.

...

After thinking about it, I'd probably go with Chilly by a narrow margin. He had a better showing in the NFC Championship. Plus, he knew enough to get Favre, and he was gone after five years. Both have their flaws, though.

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 7:51:50 PM)

If rams and Vikings finish with same record how does the tiebreaker setup?

I'm not sure but if the Rams win tonight we're by no means a lock to make the playoffs. Lots of football left, which I like actually. Keep winning!

Screaming at caterers and humiliating sponsors is asshole behavior. Nudging a cop with your car because you're entitled to defy traffic direction is asshole behavior.

Moss was an asshole but was our asshole. KA was Philly's asshole and he can stay there.

Trading Moss was one of the saddest football days in my life. I loved watching him as much as watching Anthony Carter.

Rams making it look easy vs SEA.

Any given Sunday. It's a strange league.

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 8:43:22 PM)

With Oakland and Dallas both losing this week, the vikes now have zero wins this season against teams that currently have a record of .500 or better. 9-0 vs losing teams, 0-4 vs winning teams.

Fortunately he didn't get blown away.

Don't forget he squirted a ref with a water bottle. Also played when he wanted to play. It's all well documented.

This I agree with. Also, if you want to field a pro sports team or make a movie and you have an asshole interdiction, good luck.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but you're right that he's lucky he didn't get shot. Ref yes, 'played when he wanted' no. He was a mixed bag, and understandably so. The 30 for 30 on him was one of the best in a great series. Watching him was one of my top periods as a fan, but I wasn't crushed when he got traded mostly because I thought he'd have a more precipitous decline due to back and hamstring issues he's suffered the couple of years before.

Oddly Seattle 6-0 on the road this year, 4-2 at home

Dana Turner -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 10:25:59 PM)

I was actually rooting for Seattle in this one, only because I wanted the Bears to be even more motivated for their game against GB next week.

Doesn't really matter much, the Rams have the tie-breaker against the Bears, I just want the Bears to have something to play for other than the rivalry. Seattle obviously has the tie breaker against us, so this keeps us motivated to climb up to that #5 spot if we don't get the Division. I'd much rather have our first road play-off game against either Dallas or Philly. We just need to win out and let the chips fall where they may!

On to L.A., a team that put a spanking on Jacksonville. What happened to Jacksonville's defense. They wee pretty good a couple years ago.

Dana Turner -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/8/2019 10:33:48 PM)

I just finished watching the condensed version of the game. Not much to say except we play a solid game in all phases. We should have against the Lions, but as you know, sometimes this team has a knack for playing down to their competition. This game was never in question, although I am a little baffled that Zim went for it at mid field with a couple minutes still left on the clock. Just should have buried them deep with a punt and closed it out. That is the kind of stupid stuff that makes me scratch my head, just not very smart. I totally understand if we were down in the game, but we were only up by 13 points, why risk it with that much time on the clock. What would he have done had the Lions completed a TD pass on the very next play and then converted the on sides kick with a couple minutes still to go in the game, how do you explain the decision? Just not smart and too cute for him. It didn't happen and we won the game, but really, it shouldn't have been the decision there.

You would would better than I but I always thought Moss' "flare ups" were a reflection of Red and the way the team was clearly heading. When he was happy with the franchise he was always lights out.
