Reiff should be traded for a bag of footballs or whatever can be worked out, (Oswillerlike trade) unless I'm missing something.

Pay cut or be cut

Sounds like they'll ask him to take a pay cut and move inside. I haven't been up on the cap situation enough to know if we can sign Ant Harris to an extension without cutting salary somewhere else. I just know that we've had to let several people go due to cap concerns (Griffen, Rhodes, Waynes, Alexander, Joseph, Weatherly, Sandejo, Kearse, etc.). With that in mind, expect the Vikes to rebuild their defense with most of the remaining picks.

Harris has a hit of 11M right now on the books. An extension probably knocks it down by about 4-5M.

Reiff cut after June would save 11M but also count 2.2M next year. OR 8.8M if you take all the dead money this year.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:44:31 PM)

Move up for Elliott right now. Come on Vikings.

Dave Odle -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:45:25 PM)

We do need a QB to develop. The thought of Mannion being our backup makes me [sm=banghead.gif]

Pager -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:45:30 PM)

My two guys are off the board. Cush and Gil.

Not happy right now.

bstinger -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:46:07 PM)

Cush is gone.

I like Eason better tjam Fromm.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:46:24 PM)

Cushenbury is another we could have used. Eason and Elliott still on the board. Tyler Johnson at 105.

Are we really saving 9 picks for tomorrow?
Spiels knows new CBA didn’t expand roster to 70 right?

I actually was pretty excited coming into today.

Not upset about the players Spiels is taking, I’m just stunned he is sitting on his ass with all this draft capital.

Could be a HUGE waisted opportunity to fill some holes.

I hope we don't plan on starting Cleveland this year. Way it sounds Cousins wouldn't survive the season.

Cant believe we are sitting on so many picks and not moving up for tallent when we have such needs now on team, late round development prospects will do nothing now for holes.

Well said! He must see something falling to us, I hope he doesn't miss out by doing this...

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:48:39 PM)

There GOES LEWIS. HUGE POTENTIAL but injury concerns.

Don T in CO -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:50:10 PM)

PFFs top 5 available

23. DI JORDAN ELLIOTT, MISSOURI
Elliott may not have freakish tools, but he's more than athletic enough to be an all-around quality defensive tackle in the NFL. With how consistent he was in 2019, I'd bet on him being that sooner rather than later.

26. EDGE CURTIS WEAVER, BOISE STATE
Weaver's athleticism or lack thereof is terrifying. He doesn't have a body of work against quality tackles to prove it won't matter, but we've also never seen an edge dominate the group of 5 to the degree Weaver did.

37. IOL NETANE MUTI, FRESNO STATE
Muti has all the tools to be an elite guard in the NFL. We'd be talking about him in much higher esteem had he not had his last two seasons cut short with injury.

48. WR TYLER JOHNSON, MINNESOTA
Johnson may not wow with his speed or burst, but no testing number is going to capture the way he subtly sets up defenders snap after snap to get himself open. Some NFL team is getting a hell of a route runner.

49. CB BRYCE HALL, VIRGINIA
Hall is very much a silo type of cornerback, but in that silo you're going to have a difficult time beating him. With plus length and ball skills, Hall should rack up his fair share of PBUs in the league.

Pats should be thrilled to get Eason. He's arguably better than Love.

I think they like Stidham and the veteran they resigned.

Those would all be excellent picks if Muti can be relied on.

Be a good day...

Tom Sykes -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:54:39 PM)

In order of value and importance

DL James Lynch

I like taking guys like Muti this late. Possible first round talent. Lewis was another guy.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:55:05 PM)

I'm sure the Vikings will make a good pick here, but I definitely like Elliott most.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:55:16 PM)

Hate to say it, but Eason is a possibility. Not what I want, but it’s aligning that way.

Dave Odle -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/24/2020 9:55:37 PM)

Weaver would make the sting of losing Everson Griffen more bearable, for sure.
