Tim Cady -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:10:30 PM)

True pager but I would like to think that we could have figured out by year 3 what we had and carved out the path for him.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:10:55 PM)

Prince just went. Wonder what caused his drop. We preferred and drafted the PFF superstar Brandel just a little before him.

Pager -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:12:29 PM)

My grades for the draft:

Day 1: A
Day 2: B+. Really like Ezra and Dentzler. Missed big opportunity to get a legit DT - imo (my #3 draft need).
Day 3: C-. Love the trades for 2021. Some intriguing prospects like Dye/Wannum. Failure to address IOL.

He'd be a great fit even with this oline. It's a good run blocking line and a terrible pass-blocking oline.

I'll be the first to admit - I was 100% wrong. He wasn't on my radar - I wanted guard with that pick.

I'll tell you this much. If Zim gets replaced, I want a HC that can develop QB's better. Zim is a blessing and a curse. He produces good defenses, but can only delegate offensive priorities. I get it. You can't be great at everything, but we haven't had a true offensive genius since Denny. Hell, Brad Childress's offenses actually look kick ass compared to some.of the dreck we've produced at QB.

Ragnarök -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:17:06 PM)

The talking heads LOVE the Vikings draft so far...

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:21:28 PM)

Trying to remember all we did in the draft so far

2 OT Cleveland and Brandel
2 WR Jefferson and Osborn
2 CB Gladney and Dantzler
1 Edge Wonnum
1 3T Lynch
1 ILB Dye
2 Safeties Hand and Metellus

We also got a 2021 4th from Chicago and 2021 fifth from Baltimore.
We pissed off a lot of fans by not taking a guard. Is that everything

Pager -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:24:59 PM)

Dream Scenario

ONeil, Cleveland, Bradury, Samia, Udoh

Oneil is better than Reiff. Cleveland is a big upgrade over Elf, Bradbury becomes a top 5 C, Samia is as good as Kline and injects some nastiness, Udoh surprises like ONeil and does not give up a sack all year.

kevinemmer -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:25:10 PM)

Please
Use one of these 7th Rounders on Anthony Gordon, QB.
Manion is pathetic.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:25:20 PM)

4 more picks to go. Maybe we'll get a QB and a guard.

LOL big Omission. Fixed.
Which of these will start, contribute, make practice squad, and outright cut.
Jefferson and Gladney will start for sure. Cleveland and Dantzler will most likely start eventually. Lynch might win the 3T Job,
Dye will contribute at LB and possibly safety, Wonnum will back up OdinBigo. Hand and Mettellus might get reps at safety due to no competition. Brandel will have a hard time with Hill, Cleveland, O'neill and Reiff ahead of him. Should at least make practice squad. If Reiff is cut or traded will get a roster spot.

Mannion would still be the backup this year. No way this regime has a 7th-Round rookie as backup.

Or any regime, for that matter....

Dana Turner -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:28:40 PM)

Has that DE from SDSU been drafted yet, Tauszka or something like that?

This guy? Still available

150. EDGE DERREK TUSZKA, NORTH DAKOTA STATE
Tuszka has the bend and get-off on the edge, but none of the length and power. That's a difficult combination to project from FCS.

Don T in CO -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:37:00 PM)

Updated PFF top 5 available, cuz why not

73. WR K.J. HILL, OHIO STATE
Hill's lack of speed or reps outside make him a very likely candidate to be a slot only at the next level. His combination of creative route running and hands give him a good chance to succeed there.

79. TE HUNTER BRYANT, WASHINGTON
Bryant is a tweener. He's also a starter in NFL offenses even if you called him a WR. That's the way the game is going at TE nowadays.

82. QB ANTHONY GORDON, WASHINGTON STATE
Gordon has a handful of high-level quarterbacking reps on his tape every week. It's the low-end though that scares us. Disappearing against the two best defenses he faced – Utah and Washington – is a tough sell.

83. EDGE KENNY WILLEKES, MICHIGAN STATE
Willekes’ motor is great, but if it doesn't translate to production as a pass-rusher, it's not particularly valuable. He does not possess the physical tools that make us think it ever will either.

117. IOL CALVIN THROCKMORTON, OREGON
Throckmorton's done it for four straight seasons now across multiple positions — never looking out of place at any of them. That coordination and versatility should bode well for him in the NFL.

I love the trades for a higher picks next year. Next year take the 4th we picked up from the Bears and turn it into a 3rd in 2020. Then a 2nd in 2021. And finally a 1st in 2020. I would always be doing this with a couple low draft picks.

Brandel average athletically. Last year we got Udoh, an elite athlete.

Worst part of the bio: He doesn't figure to be a plus run blocker in any scheme.

C'mon. If Spielman is still around next year he'll just be using those picks to trade back for more picks. Rick Spielman is who we think he is....

I don't believe so. Name is Derrek Tuszka and he's from NDSU.

espn says WR Hill is a slender slot guy but may be the toughest player on the OSU team.

Kind of a Patriots type player.

kgdabom -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/25/2020 4:41:42 PM)

Carter Coughlin drafted by Giants. Really hoping that Malcolm Perry is drafted by us. he can duke it out with Osborn for return duties and be an awesome gadget player.
