Re: Joe Burrow’s 9” hands

Former Bengal and now Rams QB coach Zac Robinson also had 9” hands. He told me that it particularly gave him trouble in high humidity. Burrow lit up defenses with no problem in a gd bayou I’m not too worried about him in Cincy.

Notre Dame WR Chase Claypool with a 4.45 at 6-foot-4, 238 pounds. 👀

He's going to be a mismatch threat in the NFL.

1. can he catch the ball without difficulty
2. how fast does he run in pads
3. how well does he run routes, get in and out of cuts etc

I don't care how fast the guy runs in shorts without a db getting in his way.

First things first he needs to catch the damn ball.

I would rather have a 5 Cris Carters or 5 Adam Theilens than 5 Troy Williamsons.

Sure this dude is big, but if he can't catch or run good routes it wont matter how big or fast he is

This guy is 6'4" and has a vertical jump of 40.5 ". Doing a 40 in 4.42 or 4.45 (I see two different times) for a guy of his size is awesome. He's supposed to be a "contested catch specialist" which means to me he can catch it in traffic. (ie. end zone) He probably will go in the second. It's still early, yet. I mean, it's better to go by what he did on the field- so I agree with you on that.

Speaking of what he did on the field, here's something to watch:

Bruce Johnson -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (2/28/2020 5:45:00 PM)

This is something to make me think about the 40 times.

2019 WR Reception Leaders – 40 Time

1. Michael Thomas – 4.57
2. DeAndre Hopkins – 4.57
3. Keenan Allen – 4.71*
4. Julian Edelman – 4.52*
5. Julio Jones – 4.34
6. Allen Robinson – 4.60
7. Cooper Kupp – 4.62
8. Robert Woods – 4.51
9. Tyler Boyd – 4.58
10. DJ Moore – 4.42

I guess he's on our radar to possibly be a Viking. That would be cool. I don't believe his times hurt his stock, today.

If the team covets a non-combine-riser, then maybe he will fall to them, as a result.

Bill Jandro -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (3/4/2020 7:25:37 AM)

Last year Orlando Brown was the combine "Faller".

Had an excellent rookie season

Bruce Johnson -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (3/4/2020 12:41:52 PM)

I think players who do well in the combine get an extra look at their film. Higher draft picks get lots of scrutiny.

Happens every year.

Teams ignore years of game film in favor of athletic testing.

They draft the "workout warrior" with no past production and wonder why he busts.

They pass on the guy with the poor combine numbers that ripped it up in college and wonder why he's "the steal of the draft" for someone else.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (3/4/2020 7:32:42 PM)

I guess we'll be breaking down prospects ad nauseam. This one has a lot of Adrian Peterson in him- the good and bad.
