Enjoy a faster thread folks.

First reply. Draft somebody good Vikings. Go Team.

CPAMAN -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/17/2020 4:41:51 PM)

A horrible day for me to start the week. I ended a meeting with a client last week at their office one week ago. I had to return again today for three hours this morning. They listen to the Paul Allen show EVERY DAY chimed in on the radio throughout the building. Six hours of Paul Allen in two days is a life times worth. What a terrible show he has. Simply awful topics and guest. Worthless programming. [X(]

David F mentioned in an archived thread that the Broncos fired John Fox despite a stellar 46-18 record as head coach in Denver. When one reads the below analysis regarding that decision, it's easy to draw parallels to Zimmer and the Vikings:

Except that Shanahan and Mkvay are .500 or better in the playoffs and Zimmer and Fox (with Denver) are/were below .500. That's not to mention big games in the regular season as well.

On Tuesday, Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd said on his radio show that, “Minnesota is looking to move off (Diggs) for the right pick,” and the receiver is, “unhappy,” with the Vikings.

Shanahan 2-1, McVay 2-2, Zimmer 2-3. Its hard to argue your point, since Zimmer has more losses with more chances (seasons).

I will say the difference in the playoff records - which really aren’t THAT big a difference - bother me less than the way we have lost 2 out of three. Disheartening.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/19/2020 7:35:09 AM)

I think the biggest problem presently is Zim's inability to beat Chi and GB.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/19/2020 8:04:16 AM)

Sounds like we'd suffer a 9ml dead cap hit if we were to trade Diggs so that ain't happening.

I'm not sure about Chicago, but other than last year it seems to me that Zimmer has been beating GB more often than not.

Against GB, 5-4-1 excluding last year, 5-6-1 including.

Diggs is our biggest and best weapon on offense. We don't use him enough.

Since it's topical...

Over the last 3 years, no WR has a higher contested catch rate than Stefon Diggs.

Dude plays bigger than his size.

Yeah. I don't think Diggsy is going anywhere, but we need another reliable route runner who can take the pressure off our top two receivers.

IMO the key is both Diggs and Thielen being healthy.

Are those road losses any worse than what Shanahan has done in key roles for arguably the 2 biggest Super Bowl chokes of all time? Or the Rams Super Bowl performance in the 2018 season a 13-3 loss?

Are you trying to make Zimmer look better by comparing him to a coach that you are trying to make look worse?

Shanahan and McVay have both made it to the Super Bowl within their first 3 seasons.

Are you saying not getting to the Super Bowl is better than getting there and losing?
