ORIGINAL: Bruce Johnson Said it at the time, but after watching all of the WRs who performed at the Combine, there wasn’t one that impressed me more in person than Justin Jefferson. Smooth as silk as a route runner, terrific hands and makes playing the position look easy. Jordan Reid on Twitter Here are notes he took at the combine: #CombineNotes: 4. The prospect that surprised me the most watching them live was #LSU WR Justin Jefferson. Many questioned his speed, but running a 4.43 was huge for him. His routes were outstanding and his hands are very, very strong. Could be a 1st-round pick. I initially had Mims and Reagor above Jefferson on my personal draft board. I was more or less just considering Jefferson a product of the system. After we drafted him and looking at things more closely Jefferson made Burrow just as much as Burrow made Jefferson. I'm strongly convinced we made the right choice and got a bit lucky that he was available. I keep getting back to the point that it feels like a parallel to Moss who had a veteran star to mentor him how to play the game right. This time it is with Thielen. I have been cautioned not to compare Jefferson with Moss. I say he's going to be more comparable with Cris Carter, but that the duo will be dynamic. I may be guilty of being a bit over optimistic, though. That's how I roll. He's much faster than Carter, but Carter was bigger. Carter was also a stone cold killer. However, if we're going to compare him to someone Carter is a pretty good one. I don't believe that Carter had too many reps as a slot receiver, but where they compare is that they both catch virtually everything thrown their way.
