That 1 second pause by the clock operator should have been reviewed. It was blatant.

That "PI" call on the Vikings never would have happened, nor the FG at the end of the half.

Hate to think the fix was in, but it doesn't help when you see calls like that.

So they get smacked down and you want to challenge one second. Nevermind a team can adjust after the fact and there would have been a different set of circumstances. You don't know what would have happened, unless you have the capability to see the future outcome about a scenario that didn't exist in the first place.

I'd toss that Guiliani-like frivolous challenge right out the window, WAY out.

I don't think it was frivolous. Yes, Zimmer turtled the team when they should have been in hurry up, and as usual, failed to make adjustments after the half.

But that clock pause was real. And it cost them 3 points. No one knows what would have happened as far as future outcomes go, but the fact is, TB went into the half with 3 more points in a game that was close.

Guiliani makes up shit. That wasn't made up. Even the announcers could see it.

That's all I'm saying.

Pi was an awful call. Time expired but the half cannot end on a defensive penalty thus the one second restored.

They lauded Diggs on Sunday night football

Great teammate great this great that

Just wait until things don't go so well. Then they'll get a better idea of what Diggs is like.

The one second that shouldn't have been on the clock anyway

I think the complaint is the one second pause that allowed Brady to spike the ball before the hail mary... by casual view... no way he should have been able to spike the ball in time.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/14/2020 8:09:02 AM)

Are people calling the PI bogus bc PI isn't called on a hail Mary?

Cause it clearly was interference.

To me it's a very dumb unwritten rule to not call a foul a foul.

I didn't think it was blatant enough to merit a flag.

The Gladney PI that nullified an INT was also highly questionable.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/14/2020 8:15:18 AM)

Can you imagine extending your hand to accept the game day check if you're Bailey?

Its probably electronic. Still.

Kicking shenanigans cost us the game and likely a playoff spot

Aside from the points taken away...the change in psyche of the team
knowing they can't trust their kicker to make points.

Quite a grocery list of favorable calls to TB. Worse than a typical GB game.

We could argue the degree of blatantness but if you looked at the contact without context or bias you gotta call it PI.

not convinced Vikings win if Bailey makes all the kicks but they certainly may have. The entire flow and game would have changed that's for sure.

Thought I was nuts
The problem I saw was our guy being dumb enough to start interfering at the 15, instead of at the point of conflict.

And he kept interfering all they way into the endzone.

Todd Davis couldn't keep up with Gronk.

Great coverage decision.

Yep
We were up 6-0 when it should have been 20-0
Or at least 17
We also set futility records yesterday as far as "most time of possession" not equating to victory, etc ...
I kept thinking early when we were dominating, that "this is exactly what the Jags did to us"
We had two weeks of coming back from double-digit deficits
Even those two weak teams put the points up early on us.
If we had, it probably would have been enough, even once TB started to play.
It was basically our previous two weeks in reverse, except we never even pushed TB into panic, due to our lack of finish.

Thought so too, frustrating because Gladney wanted it more and Evans basically quit on the route and gets rewarded. Sure there was contact but not enough to put Evans on the ground like that. Could have been a pick 6 as well.

IMO the 1-5 start had more to do with likely not making the playoffs. And at the time the excuses, err reasons, were COVID-19, failure to address the OL, Elf/Samia, new CBs, bad new CBs, Pierce opting out, Hunter's injury, Barr, failure to manage the salary cap better, bad drafts, Zimmer is a dinosaur, Cousins, not playing JJ earlier, NFL COVID policy, why even have a season, zebras, refs, bad call, bad calls, Rudy is a plodder, no artificial noise at home games, Wilf, Wilfs.

Oh yeah, also the stat that only three 1-5 teams made the playoffs since the merger.

Let me know if I missed something.

Agreed... I think all the mauling in the endzone gets ignored... but Davis rode him for about 15 yards prior...

Side note: It irked me more than is reasonable that Harrison Smith goes all Troy Williamson on that hail mary... totally misjudges the easy grab... it wouldn't even make a difference but it was like the entire team was just off making small mistakes that killed the chance of winning.

This team has no business in playoffs
Would have preferred 4 and 12 with best possible offensive or defensive lineman available
This offseason should be nothin but both
If Barr, Hunter and Pierce all back, if we get draft, FA right, could be real good next year
We also need 3rd WR. Someone that can burn folks deep with attention on other guys
Love seeing them use Irv
Hopefully they let Harris go a spend that money elsewhere.

Agree, especially about Smith. I've been talking hm up since we drafted him. Some folks might claim he's just a guy, but he can be a real difference maker like he was at ALA, we just need to feature him more. The silver lining to this year is that we've had a chance to see if some of the young guys can step up to replace some overpriced veterans. After seeing Smith, Cleveland and Wilson, we can let Rudy, Barr and Reiff walk next year without any drop off in production at their positions. I was mostly worried about Cleveland as early reports were that he would need to gain weight and strength before he could play in the NFL. He appears to have enough of both and could be a really good Tackle next year.

With a few high priced contracts increasing to absurd levels next year, we HAVE to cut those and/or others to get under the cap. It may be about managing dead cap money (cut pre or post June 1, etc).

Also Wilson is a UFA playing for the big $. OTC has a 2021 valuation of $12M.
