Minnesota May get there in football. Have been there and gone in hockey. There in wrestling Softball Gymnastics Basketball No It can be done people . Believe!!

Its truth, Ed We've always felt it impossible It's not In our lifetimes (in football) we've watched the Northwesterns, the Iowas, the Wisconsins, rise to national prominence for periods of time. Why not us. Love how some of the "lesser" programs we have at the U have become national powers. VB has been awesome, SB has done well. Wrestling too. If you ever get a chance, walk thru Ridder Arena where the Gopher Hockey Women have a shrine to their success in the hallways …. it takes your breath away. Way too much breath in this state wasted on a couple major programs who disappoint. That run by the FB team last year was so damn fun. It would be awesome to build on that.

Idk if those kids know each other In a lot of cases we’ve seen this in hoops Is pretty cool.

Build a power Always love seeing them pushing the best every year You'll see them against the best, and think "I bet Stanfords going …. Minnesota? Really? They're good?" McCutcheons brought a lot of respect to that program.

And the trickledown is MN HS coaches get kids to buy in Look at the U Put your time in And that’s where a lot of softball programs are failing The collegiate success is rarely talked about I’ve been around enough coaches and few talk about it Most talk about keeping kids out Volleyball is easier to get good at It’s getting tougher to convince kids to put in bp time vs bump set spike

The administration has done a good job getting Volleyball coaches....Hebert was a steal from Purdue and McCutch is a Olympic quality coach.....just awesome. I think we are seeing this with Fleck too and I think Wrestling and Hockey will be back soon.....I am a little worried about Lindsay but very worried with Pitino at the helm....hotbed of hoops and he doesn't get a couple pieces that can help each year.

We took Landfair from Chicago and lost our best home grown player to Illinois.

The Gophers are returning 11 letter winners as well from last year's team and also added a pretty good graduate transfer in their class. This team is going to be DEEEEP! They will be able to maintain their attack when Sameday rotates to the back.

No different than softball though. I love watching college softball. They had a pro softball league in the MW last summer, a team from Australia played out of Mankato. We were at a tournament there, and got to watch them play in the evening. Fun stuff.
