Reference your bolded point, a while back I found some obscure stat that our opponents were first in FG tries over 50 yards against us. Something like that. Like that guy from Sunday.... 62 freakin yards?!

Its nice to know our misfortunes inspire others ...

I didn't need to hear the audio of the holder and kicker giggling and snickering as they lined up pre-snap ...

The hilariously sad thing about Sunday's game...

Other team trots out their kicker for 37 yarder to win it(or a 62 yarder)... Vikings fans resigned to the fact they have lost the game.

This really is a great post. tragicomedy.

I'm guilty for sure.

These stats are nuts. And illustrative of the Zim game management issues. More points given up in the 4 minutes before halftime this year than in the first or second half of the game combined:

- Kickoff to two-minute warning (56 total minutes of game time): 14 points
- Two-minute warning to halftime (4 minutes): 24 points
- Second half and OT (75 minutes): 23 points

They've been absurdly bad at the end of the first half.

give up prevent defense...zim's vikings have always sucked at it, and it demoralized our defense....

The power of the two-minute offense.

One of Zimmer's worst characteristics. He assumes the other teams' coaches will coach just like he would in any situation.

He assumes that every other coach thinks it's 1975.

It feels like were going in to each game with one arm tied behind are back.

Between Zimmers coaching methods and our continued lack of a reliable kicking game it's not surprising we come up short in close games.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/22/2021 12:45:15 PM)

So Spielman said trading up for Fields was too rich, too pricy. Wonder if he would have thought the same if he had the 2nd round pick he foolishly traded away for a five-game rental?

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/22/2021 1:09:20 PM)

[Kyle Rudolph] For me, it’s the first time I’ve had a head coach who isn’t a defensive coordinator. So it’s a head coach who’s in charge of the entire team.

Not that Kyle is setting the world on fire in New York with his four catches on seven targets for 33 years and no touchdowns but he makes his point nonetheless.

I understand a knee jerk reaction to Hunter being done for the year but

of all of Spielman's FA shenanigans ... the whole Ngakoue affair was by far the most questionable ... or at least mysterious ...

like there was something weird and unsavory going on in the background

maybe something involving yoga pants and scuba flippers.

And yet, according to some, we should be on track for an undefeated season – we didn't really lose the first two games ...

Imagine if we had a third arm or even just a very long proboscis ... a long tubular sucking mouthpart ...

to recover Cook's fumble ... we'd be better than undefeated in theory.

A game back with a bunch to go ...

Good thing we're due on one of those game winning FGs

Cook's fumble that really wasn't.

But let's be clear here. Even if we didn't fumble there we would have had to count on someone who this week missed a game winning 37 yard FG to hit a game winning 37 or so yard FG to win in Cincy.

Playcalling needs some work, but we have a guy just now will be calling his third game of his career. And from what I can see he's not terrible, but needs to work on making adjustments in game. and making sure he's calling plays to get to the sticks and not having an option short of the sticks that has no chance of getting there.

For years they've all sat around and watched Percy Harvin gain 12 out of some LOS bubble screen nonsense and think 'there's the answer to our short game'.

They forget Harvin always made the first guy miss, and for most of his life he was the best player on the field.

Or the QB needs to take some calculated risks and fire the ball into a small window or put it where the only the receiver can get it. Or chuck it deep and if it's picked off its as good as a punt.

I still can't comprehend doing something that stupid. Any idea why he would trade a 2nd
and then get rid of the guy after 5 games?

We're certainly due against the seahens.

I think Sunday's loss to the Seahawks will show the value of a QB having mobility, how having that could lead to a road victory against a team that has more talent.

It will leave Viking fans wanting to have Mond inserted into the lineup asap.
