It's a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum (along with a signing bonus) for Alexander, according to league sources.

That's pretty cheap for a servicable player like Mac.

This should also rule out Zim banging on the table for a 1st rd cb.

Yep the ole Denver/ Zone blocking scheme. They HAVE TO KNOW they can’t just bring in a couple guys to plug into the interior of the OLine and throw their hands up and say “We’re good!”. Been there done that with zero success.
Obviously Zimmer is running our personnel department. Gotta say he shored up the Secondary, and the Interior DLine.
Deepest Cornerback room assuming Dantzler, and Gladney progress.
Add another edge rusher and the defense could make a dramatic leap.
They’ve gotta have a plan to fix the OLine. Right?

If they’re able to pull off the Orlando Brown trade, sign Austin Blythe to a cheap deal, and add someone like Wyatt Davis or Ben Cleveland in the 3rd.

Also add an edge rusher like Jason Owey then you’d have something seriously going on.

Bottomline: We have signed a below average C ‘square’ to fit into a G ‘circle’. It’s what we do.
