For those of us who like to place bets the Vikings are 1.5 point underdogs vs the Pukers for the home opener.

The Vikings over/under number for wins is 9.5
The Puke are 11.5.

How much do you have on it?

I'm beginning to think I should of bet $50 for all four of the Twins/Yanks games -

KB, I found a bet for you, it's called "First win of reg season" Packers are +600 to get their first win in week 2. Ive got $1 on it.

edit: OMG, I was under the Bears and I bet they'd get their first win of the year against the Packers. ha ha

Is it 10 now? I Googled it just half an hour ago. Even though I think we can win 11 or more having to win 10 just to tie is a deal breaker on that bet.

Bet on the Skankees.
I haven't placed my bets on the Vikings yet.

I'm not much of a Vegas gambler. Does +600 mean you bet a dollar you get 6? Most people have the Puke winning their first game week one. If the Puke play the Bears week 2 that will be their first win. I would love to place that bet.

If you look it up it "actually" means if you bet a $100 you win $600 (-200 would mean bet $200 to win $100) but yes you win $6 if you bet $1.

- I actually had to look this stuff up this summer as a first time better

Clearly the Puke will be huge favorites to win against the Bears so that +600 must be because they expect the Puke to have already won their first game against the Vikings.

Any idea on what it would be for Vikes to win their 1st game being Detroit at home in week 3 ?

Why do you always feel the need to be incredibly negative.
it should be +10,000
I probably wouldn't even make that bet if given those odds. Nah to be honest I probably would.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/6/2022 3:00:22 PM)

I feel no need to be 'incredibly negative', I feel it might be a decent bet, if the odds were high enough.

Good question. I didn't realize what I was doing at first when I thought I was picking GB to win against Chi. I was actually looking at all of Chicago's weeks with the payouts for the win.

On Fan Dual they only have seven of what I suppose they think are the most likely teams to go O for a lot: Chi, Det, Atl, NYJ, Det, Sea, Hou

If Chicago doesn't get by Hou in wk3 and NYG in wk4 the odds of them winning against the Vikes are +1600

Sorry, but I'm so used to you being negative that I took your question to be an assumption that the Vikings would be 0-2 going in to week 3.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/6/2022 4:51:22 PM)

KG, that's interesting. I am thinking the Vikings will drop their 1st 2, even though I think the Green Bay game could go either way.

Despite this, I have the Vikings going 11-7. I will be curious what some of you think for the Vikes overall record.

If you're assuming a win out of the gate, do some of you think this will be a 12 or 13 win season ?

#Vikings have signed CB Duke Shelley to practice squad and they have released DL T.Y. McGill off injured reserve after reaching injury settlement with him.

As expected, the #Vikings now list Jonathan Bullard on the depth chart as a starting DE replacing Armon Watts, waived last week.

Regarding the T.Y. McGill release off injured reserve, a source says he can immediately sign with any other team and the #Vikings have relinquished their rights to him. His injury was not believed to be that serious.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/6/2022 4:57:53 PM)

To me, the two trickiest games to call are the homes games against the Packers and Colts.

I have the Vikings beating the Colts. Lose that one, and they still go 10-7.

IF the Vikings win BOTH of those games, then I think it's a 13 win season.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/6/2022 5:30:57 PM)

I maybe have the Vikings going 17-0 in the regular season. But IF they lose 3 games I see them highly likely going 14-3. It's low to highly possible they lose 5 games in which case I predict them going 12-5 depending on the accuracy of simple math. IF they lose more, I can see them going anywhere from 0-17 to 11-6 depending on the outcome of the final score. It's improbable to highly likely they go between 0-17 and 17-0, but there is a chance they fall between 4-13 and 13-4. Or more likely 16-1 to 1-16. There are several tricky, sway ridden, games which IF things go right could lead them to the playoffs or to the #1 overall pick in 2023, and that's marginally to wholly dependent not only on whether each starter decides to injure themselves but on who takes themselves out for the year.

These ironclad predictions are tough to do, but here in Kookville at least I'm out there with my predictions.

Expecting us to go 0-2 is severe negativity IMO. If Hunter and Z play all year I see 12 wins as a floor. If they don't maybe 10 wins or even less.
