My apologies for posting it. My son and I fell for it hook line and sinker. Did a lousy job of vetting that one. [:o]

You're not the only one by far. Same kind of thing has happened to me.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 5:53:51 PM)

Are the scouts carryovers?

I believe so, with maybe a couple of additions.

Todd M -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 8:10:12 PM)

WR Tre Turner looks like a decent get.

lyle chabot -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 8:53:11 PM)

Listening to the new players and coaches makes me feel better about the draft, now bring on the season!

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 11:43:24 PM)

After digesting it all I've come up with the one key to how this draft is going to look in a few years. It all comes down to Andrew Booth. He has potential to be the best CB in this draft, but it could end up being a completely wasted pick if his health issues keep him down. The very definition of boom or bust. Getting him at 42 could easily be the steal of the 2022 NFL draft.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 11:50:56 PM)

In Kwesi's post draft interview he addressed the issue of trading within the division very well IMO.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJiu59ulAMk
He said you have to consider the player your opponent is going to get and that you will have to play against him twice every season, but since they can trade with someone else to get that same player your only way to stop it is by picking that player yourself. If you're not willing to do that then you might as well consider what your own team can get with the assets and how they are going to have to play against him or them twice a year.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (5/1/2022 2:44:35 AM)

I really like Ty Chandler.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czbEJ_82ERk
Fast, shifty, strong and great receiving skills. We could convert him to WR no problem.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (5/1/2022 5:49:54 AM)

Chandler looks a little like Emmit Smith, a nice burst.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (5/1/2022 5:50:36 AM)

Pickett to Pickens might be a decent fantasy combo for 2023.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (5/1/2022 5:54:11 AM)

I disagree with the "experts" saying Cole Strange was such a reach for NE.

It wasn't like he was a projected 3rd rounder.

He was a projected early 2nd rounder, chances are there was no calls for a trade up there, no guarantee he would still be around for NE's 2nd round pick.

First off, who are the experts? The Patriots have six Super Bowl championships. I'd say they are the experts.

A lot of people did have Strange projected as a 3rd rounder. It doesn't mean much. However, the Patriots are capable of screwing up a draft pick just like anybody else.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (5/1/2022 8:13:59 AM)

My personal grades on the Vikings picks relative to the spot they were drafted.

Lewis Cine B+
Andrew Booth A-
Ed Ingram C
Brian Asamoah C
Akayleb Evans B+
Esezi Otomewo C
Ty Chandler A
Vederian Lowe C
Jalen Nailor B
Nick Muse C

I gave no pick worse than a C as I could see a justification for picking every one of these guys. Overall I give us a B.

Good one!

I repeatedly make the mistakes of looking at replies to tweets - one of the dumbest things I do in a day.

So this bum is saying Kwesi should be fired before the next season starts and he uses CBS F rating of the Draft as some solid evidence. It did make me do a search, though ...

PFF gave NE a D for the Draft. SI gave them a B-

PFF gave the Vikings a B for the draft. SI gave them a D- - the guy said he doesn't give Fs bc it's not fair to the players.

One guy represents SI. And he was bent out of shape about 12 to 32 more than anyone in here.

It's all bullshit!

I found this YouTube of CBS grading Vikings draft.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkVxagdMaxg

Rick Spielman gave us a B- and Bryant McFadden gave us an A. So I guess it all depends on which CBS grader you listen to.

I also found round by round grades from CBS sports that gave most of the Vikings picks A's. Cine got a B+. Where did this guy find his CBS sports F Grade?

I didn't mean to credit CBS with giving the Vikes an F ;) - sorry if it sounded that way. I don't know, it was in a tweet reply. I actually didn't see CBS' grades

Rick gave them a B- -- cool!

Detroit's GM pretty well acknowledged that they were surprised at how little Kwesi asked for when the Lions called and they jumped on it. Regardless of what the charts say, KAM could have gotten more.

Someone else referenced this. Do you know where I can find the quote from the GM?

"When we talked about trading up 12, we expected the Vikings to demand at least a first, and we were ready to pay that because we wanted our guy. When they said all they wanted was a swap of seconds and our third rounder Dan started jumping for joy. Those offers only happen once and a while so we had to jump at that." - Lions GM Brad Holmes

Again, the trade was not a disaster, but they clearly could have gotten more. I think KAM learned his lesson because he has done pretty well since.

Where did it come from, though? I can't find it anywhere in the GM's comments or reporting from credible sources. It just doesn't sound like something a GM says about another GM, and the graphic I saw came from Facebook, it looked like. Not saying you made it up, obviously, or that it definitely wasn't said, but I can't find it and it has a bad whiff.

I believe with great conviction, though I'm not certain, that this quote is 100% made up. It doesn't show up in reporting about the trade in the Detroit Free Press or The Athletic, at least that I can find. If you write the verbiage in a Google search field, you get nothing. If someone can find it reported by a credible source I will readily concede, but people are responding to this in exactly the way someone who makes up shit like this would want. Reminds me of our electoral politics.

I agree. I would need a source to give it any legs ... be really surprised if Homes ... who unfortunately I like ... poured sauce on top of getting the better of the deal.

Its probably started as a misinterpretation by a viking fan not liking the trade.

It originated from a tweet by NFC North News. I does appear to be made up after looking at other stuff they post.

Yeah, it's a fake account apparently. This has allegedly been debunked by Lions PR.

Maybe it wasn't an actual quote, but I would imagine they were thinking it.

Didn't the Rams send their RB deep regularly?

Maybe that is what they are thinking with Chandler...

Could be a fun piece to move around the field

Cheap version of Deebo Samuels?

That's what I was thinking. I'd been wondering if they could do something like that with Kene, but I don't know if he has the downfield chops. This guy seems made for third-down back and/or gadget guy split out for jet sweeps, screens, and downfield stuff. Also, wheel routes with the right guy against the right look are almost impossible to stop.

The next Alvin Kamara.
