a- seems less worried about disappointing people.

Get over this in just about anything you do and youve increased your chances of improving

b-He's still a nerd.

Yeah, but he's our nerd

Yes, I have expressed exactly that in response to a few of the pure KC haters. He may be a mixed bag as a QB but he's our mixed bag.

IMO he still is a mixed bag. But this year, the job has been getting done and he deserves a lot of credit.

And ... removing some of his own starch has allowed him to rebrand himself – from an insufferable plywood nerd – to a goofball who can laugh at himself. Big difference.

There is still a lot of football to be played but I'm starting to raise my expectations.

Well, not quite yet. But soon.

He must have seen the video of Brad Childress dressing up as a drag queen on the team flight.

Oh geez. That remark just pulverized any good feeling I had for KCs post-game shenanigans. He wouldnt go all Childress / Gary Busey on us would he?

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 7:29:48 AM)

Not a stat I like:

Vikes 0-3 against the Cowboys in the new stadium.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 7:43:19 AM)

That is B.C.: Before Coach O'Connell

This team is going to continue to roll !!!

Cautiously.

No way I can buy in 100% As soon as I do I get whacked up side the head.

I'd love to be able to believe the Cowboys are going to get our best game.

- I'll be the guy outside the stadium, looking at his phone, waiting for the last 15 minutes of Stub Hub ticket sales this Sunday.

Either that or sitting with Todd O at a pub keeping him out of fights

LOL
Does this help Ricky:

Chance to Win the NFC 1-Seed, per
@FiveThirtyEight

-Eagles 41%
-Vikings 40%

Maybe a little. ;)

I did see FiveThirtyEight has them at 11%, 3rd highest, to win the SB

Giants 7-2
'Boys 6-3

I'd say these two could easily enough eat up the last 19%

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 9:48:44 AM)

Some article ran down how the pundits ranked the Vikings. Most of the rankings are either #1 or #3.

Mike Florio has us #1 saying: "Team of Destiny, even if destiny means finding yet another spectacular way to lose in the postseason."

Gotta give him credit, he knows our history.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 9:57:59 AM)

The NFC East teams are going to beat up on each other so by default at least a couple of them are going to rack up some losses. So I can see where their odds of achieving the best NFC record is lower.

Denny Green once said the first goal every year is to win your division. In the broader sense, we are playing in the NFC East.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 4:32:42 PM)

Cowboys favored by 1.5 points over MIN on Sunday. The Vikings remain on the wrong side of the betting line, they’ll be only the fourth team since 1970 to be a regular-season home underdog with a record of 8-1 or better.

But the money is being placed on MN to move the line like it is

- wasn't it -2.5 a day or two ago?

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 5:29:12 PM)

JJ makes the injury report.

Limited - toe.

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 6:33:44 PM)

NFL/Youtube has the game from the 2 min warning to the end. 40+ minutes. Im in overtime. Second play, Cook's 8 yard run is amazing. Third play, Cousins throw hitting JJ is every bit amazing. Incredible that he threw a dime right there.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 7:38:51 PM)

The opening line I found was 2, so it has moved a little, if it's at Dallas - 1 1/2.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 7:42:54 PM)

Before the season started, I looked at the 3 home games in a row, and thought the Vikings would lose one of them.

I thought the Vikings would lose at Buffalo, come back angry and beat Dallas. And then NE would come in as an underdog, and Belichek would outcoach KOC for a NE win. And then the Vikes would come back and beat the Jets.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2022 7:48:16 PM)

Now I think the Dallas game might be the toughest of the 3 to win.

Coming off a big, emotional road win, it may be hard to bring it. JJ nicked up (this is where I wish they had OBJ), and Tomlinson still not back, will mean their vulnerable to the powerful Dallas rushing attack, if they have both Pollard and Zeke going.

Dallas could have easily beaten GB, if not for the refs killing their last drive with a holding penalty, and then an obvious no call PI by Jaire.

If the refs are neutral, or favor the Cowboys near the end, could be a difficult game to win. The NFL seem to like their games to be unpredictable, and if it seems too predictable that the Vikings will pull out games at the end, that is when a streak seems to magically end.

He was just medically cleared to play 3 days ago - and has said he's a few weeks away from even being in football shape.

He wouldn't play against Dallas even if he was a Viking.

I wonder how many of those games were against the Conboys.
