David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/16/2022 8:12:00 PM)

It's so strange that KAT is the only Wolf that knows how to pass to Gobert.

He mishandled a ton of passes earlier in the year. I don't think he has the best hands but they are going to have to figure it out; just a dunking machine.

It's very simple. Throw him anything at his chest or higher and its a catch. Anything below his waist and he'll fumble it.

And for some reason, everyone but KAT keeps throwing him bounce passes.

David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/17/2022 11:15:47 AM)

Also Ant doesn't ever look to pass to Rudy.

I counted 3 times last night that Rudy was wide-open under the basket and Ant took a contested shot.

Rudy was visibly upset after one of them.

He is 7'3"....it was assumed that DLO would work with him too; but that hasn't happened either.

DLo was at his best with Jarrett Allen as a rim runner/post target.

But the problem is that even though Rudy is bigger and a better overall player, he's not nearly as coordinated or fluid of an athlete. And because Allen excelled at catching bounce passes on the move (as well as lobs (or really anything near him)), he had a much, much larger "catch radius" than Rudy.

So DLo needs to learn that he can't keep throwing the same passes to Gobert that he threw to Allen.

True; I was amazed a couple of games ago Gobert just couldn't hold on to anything.

Embiid versus Gobert. Will see how that goes.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/19/2022 9:05:21 PM)

Awful 4th quarter. Extremely fortunate to hold on for the win.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/21/2022 8:18:16 PM)

If you shoot 3/25 for 3s in one half of basketball, you’re going to have a bad time.

wrh -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/22/2022 9:22:34 AM)

yes, ugly, flat first half, but the second half was nice. Great to see a successful comeback, J-Mac hitting 4 3s, and Gobert icing it with 4 clutch free throws at the end. Even DLo with an important hoop (even if it was his only one) and followed it with great defense on the next play. Oh and by the way I like the uniforms, curious to see what the new floor will look like !!

It was not pretty...on 2-3 of Miami top 8 played (Oladipo,Herro, Robinson, Butler, and Haslem were out).

David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/22/2022 11:04:26 AM)

Haslem?

He still gets PT. No Butler, Herro, or Robinson was the main part of it.

He really doesn't.

He's 42 years old and basically an assistant coach that can play a few spot minutes if needed. The Heat are letting him "play" as long as he wants to collect milestones.

He hasn't played 100 minutes in 7 years.

And he's definitely no where near one of their Top 8 players...

He was a healthy scratch against us.

So you are saying that was Miami's best lineup or not...(becuz I was saying it was far from it).

Not at all. Just that Haslem doesn't belong in the list of key missing players. They've been a better team with him off the floor for almost a decade - and he was never a particularly good player. He was just a nice fit among a team full of superstars in that he'd do some dirty work and stay out of everyone's way.

Your comparison/contrast of Gobert v. Allen was spot on. However, Towns height, and vision because of his height and length makes that pass look easy. Guards are taught early on about the importance of the entry bounce pass. Gobert has less than good hands, and not at all fluid or smooth if he has to bounce it once. That's probably not going to get better. Mitchell wasn't the only Jazz player frustrated with him.

I still think this was a bad trade and a bad fit, but you can't have your giant Center have a game with Zero FG attempts. How can that even happen? We got him, adjust to him.

On a positive note, we didn't get caught with 4 players on defense tonight.

JT2 -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/26/2022 1:45:50 AM)

Another lackluster performance against a bad, short-handed team.
We had a nice win streak against teams playing without Harden, Maxey, Harris, Butler, Mitchell, Allen and even Banchero. Tonight no Ball or Hayward.

Any ideas on what is wrong with this team? Obviously they need time to gel. Perhaps that's the only problem?

JT2 -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 12:07:33 AM)

Quiet in here. No more love for Rivers? Anderson? Gobert trade still looking good?

I'm not even kidding, I would love to know what the good fans think what is wrong with this team.

Maybe it was a moral victory today, allowing the Champions to get their second road win of the season.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 7:56:55 AM)

I don't get to watch most games. But from what I'm reading the team seems like:

-it is still a work in progress getting these current pieces on the same page.
-lapses in games that could easily be won from lack of effort.

That's all i got

ronhextall -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 8:32:21 AM)

Give it this year and next, if they still suck I would trade anybody and everybody for #1 picks and start over.

David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 11:45:23 AM)

We have players that are not smart and/or experienced enough to run what Finch wants, and Finch is too stubborn to change.

We're literally doing everything possible to make a simple game as difficult as it can be.

David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 2:48:58 PM)

I'm honestly more excited about the kids in Iowa than I am the big squad these days.

Makes me wonder what Connelly would've been able to do if he kept all those future draft picks...

David Levine -> RE: Timberwolves 2022 - 2023 Season (11/28/2022 4:41:49 PM)

Luka Garza:

7 Games: 33.8 MPG, 27.3 PPG (68/55/75), 9 RPG, 4 APG, .7 SPG, 1 BPG. 2.3 TOV, 3.6 PF.

And he's shooting that 55% from 3 on more than 4 attempts/game.
