I said years ago Cousins was a bum and a waste of time and that is exactly what he is.

Time to start over from scratch

He's been nothing but a waste of time.

He is a team killer

Good enough to give many hope

Not good enough to win a SB

Random post on Addison. No catches vs Carolina. But his average in the other games projects over 16 (season minus Carolina) games to 996 yards. Around 9 TDs.

He needs to ve the number 2 on obvious passing downs at the very least. We need to stop trying to force Osborn to be a thing.

So to end last season, Cousins does his infamous check down to end the game The other week he passes when he should have simply clocked the ball. This week he holds onto the ball when he should have passed it to end the game. He's a robotic game manager who absolutely loses it when the game is on the line.

It is hard to believe that Cousins is as dumb as he is.

You have to know that is the last play of the game; if you feel someone grabbing you - JUST TOSS THE FREAKIN BALL UP IN THE AIR AND PRAY FOR A FLAG!

He seems like a smart guy off the field. He seems very unaware of situations on it.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/8/2023 8:45:02 PM)

1st round pick 2024 (guessing the Vikings will draft between 5-8) + 2025 1st round pick + Danielle Hunter to Chicago for the 1st pick of the 2024 draft; draft Caleb Williams.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/8/2023 8:49:42 PM)

It happens too fast for Kirk. Either his throw is behind, or he makes an incorrect throw because he doesn't quickly process the situation.

I was listening to the radio, and on one pass they said Kirk was hurrying to get out the pass (even though there wasn't pressure on that play. Had Kirk waited just a split second, he might have spotted Addison who broke free and was wide open, instead Kirk quickly threw it to JJ who was well covered, pass incomplete
.

If Chicago has the #1 pick they’re drafting Caleb and ending the Fields experiment.

Unless Fields leads them to the playoffs and they get the #1 from Carolina.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/8/2023 10:09:13 PM)

Vikes just the ultimate teaser team

Enough talent to stay close, and make some say “team is not that bad”
But not close to enough talent to take over a gsme
Team is stuck in no man’s land
Can’t continue, team needs to take some bold steps this off-season

Vikings landed Daniel Jones a lifetime contract
Wouldn’t be suprised to see Fields have a monster game this weekend in

Practicing saying the plays out loud was telling to me.

f Chicago has the #1 pick they’re drafting Caleb and ending the Fields experiment.

Not if Fields shows potential. He has looked decent the last 2 weeks, and they have a soft schedule.

Carolina will probably get the 1st pick for the Bears.

Marty you do this every year....there are 5-6 QBs in the draft that I would be happy with; many project us now taking the UNC QB.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2023 7:48:09 AM)

If the Vikings lose to the Bears, it's hard to see them beating San Fran at home.

In the NFL, anything can truly happen and maybe San Fran sleepwalks into Minn, but if they fall to 1-6, they need to think really hard about trading any assets they have.

Hunter probably the most likely, to a competing team who needs a pass rusher. Probably could get a 2nd rounder Cousins unlikely, your only hope is a competitor who has lost their starter for the year, however, the no trade and cap makes this all hard, although I would think Cousins would waive his no trade, if it meant making a playoff run. Harrison Smith. Not sure he would fetch much, but maybe a 4th rounder, not sure a blitzing/run stopping safety at the end of the line will fetch much. Hicks seems to be the only other vet that you could get anything (4th/5th rounder). But probably need to find a good team in an injury situation

If we end up with say a top 10 pick, you have to take the best available QB. The rest of the draft should be focused on the front 7.

The current front 7 is completely devoid of talent, except Hunter. Pace is a nice story, but he's been a bit invisible the last coupel games.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2023 8:04:07 AM)

Hey, does anyone know the last time the Vikings lost their first 3 home games?
Even 1984 that didn’t happen lol

addison has done everything that the vikings have asked of him...i'd guess that his no-catch Carolina game is on o'connell...;.

This is great stuff! Tough to accept a nice guy that's interested in doing things the right way in life, I guess.

re: "saying the plays out loud" ... It's a memory technique. Say it, hear it, repeat it, repetition, etc, etc. It was a suggestion he bought into. What's crazy is what he's doing is "smart." But he looks like a geek to us, so ....

At the Iowa Field House years ago I saw a pie chart of the percentages of how much the different techniques help us remember what your memorizing. Repeating out loud and hearing it were big. Many times I wish I would have got a copy of that chart, like now.
