Not sure how real this is.

"Per source" has sort of a don't look here ring to it. But who knows.

Maybe he’s only a little rapey.

The amazing part of all this was that Jaren Hall was the back-up plan. That, in itself, should get someone in the front office fired.

I thought Cousins becoming an UFA (cannot franchise) in March with no #1 qb in waiting was poor planning. The clock just got turned up 6 months.

Levis was there for the taking last draft. Kwesi appears to be a man without a plan.

Almost positive Kwesi's plan until yesterday was take risk with Cousins not getting injured, then draft a 1st round QB in the offseason.

shewt - Kwesi has no qualms about drafting or signing the oft-injured … even the still healing … so no risk involved with Cousins.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 6:25:20 PM)

I’d like to just get behind Hall. We deserve a drafted QB to catch lightning in a bottle once.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 6:33:57 PM)

That was a strange looking injury to Cousins. I had to look up what exactly a "rupture achilles" is.

Apparently the thick cord behind your ankle which holds your calf muscle in place gives way.

It seemed to ruptured on Cousins when he pumped but didn't throw and was attempting to leave the pocket or move to the left. it didn't look like he did anything abnormal. Sounds like it might be a worse injury than an ACL.

I agree. Let's give this guy a chance. He is very mature, 25, married, has a family went on a two year mission before college and was a two year starter in college. Corey Chavous gave him generally good grades and ranked him the 8th best QB in the draft. At least worth giving a chance with possible upside versus the Journeymen alternatives.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 7:17:44 PM)

I just looked at our QBs the last 25 or even whole history. Not a great list. Kirk is top 3 in most categories. We have one HOF QB.

We are desperate for another Fran. GB doesn’t realize what they had for the last 30 some years.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 7:27:28 PM)

Break from QB talk.

Addison is just shy of phenomenal. Or maybe it’s more accurate to say he is phenomenal and has just missed bringing in a few that would cement the rating.

It's kind of weird, because the Achilles tendon is the largest strongest tendon in the human body. For it to rupture on a movement as insignificant as it seemed is surprising.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 7:38:47 PM)

I think the 3, 4 clumsy steps afterwords does a lot of the extra damage.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 7:55:36 PM)

Weird. Rupture seams like it would be worse than a tear but I was just reading a rupture is often a partial tear.

I was imagining some tearing and then a few more steps and it explodes.

Kind of a Viking thing. Teddy's leg almost falls off during practice. Sam Bradford is lights out against New Orleans, but apparently loses the cartilege in his knee.

No team has drafted fewer QBs over the past 20 years than us.

Culpepper: torn anterior cruciate, medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/30/2023 8:56:02 PM)

The New York Giants traded defensive lineman Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday in exchange for a pair of draft picks.

In exchange for Williams, the Seahawks sent a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round selection to the Giants.

The Giants are taking on most of the $10 million owed to Williams, sources told ESPN. The Seahawks will owe Williams about $647,000 for the remainder of the season, which is the prorated amount of the veteran minimum base salary of $1.165 million. Williams had $10 million remaining on his $18 million base salary for 2023, which the teams agreed to lower to the vet minimum as part of the trade, per sources. The Giants paid Williams the balance in the form of a signing bonus.

He regressed a lot in sacks and lesser so in other stats (although tackles were way up in 2021 so maybe its the scheme/role), so maybe Hunter is worth more than I said yesterday.

As an aside, there is Hunter's $15 million dead cap in upcoming void years. I think we are on the hook for that but don't know.

Draft 1 more QB next year, and not need another for the next 15 years!

That is nothing to be proud about. It's sad. I don't even care if we miss, swing for a QB. Wasting good draft picks on guys like Mattison and Irv Smith really hurts.

I do like that we identified Addison as a must have. Hopefully this team comes to the realization that QB's matter.

Just think, Bruce Allen drafted Kirk Cousins in the same draft where he selected RG3.

There is no such thing as having too many good QB's.

Yikes, Kirk got off easy!
