An upper tier QB and a top DE/Edge both depart for nothing in return.

But we should get a compensatory 3rd rounder next year.

This is the Minnesota way.

Well the Jets and Giants usually suck, so their harsher medias suck.

I lived in Wisconsin for 28 years, and compared to Minnesota, their media is much more positive on the Packers, and it cultivates a team that doesn't lose much in December, and has won a few Super Bowls.

The Minnesota media has created the idea that JJ is a diva just like Diggs, and they won't stop until he is driven out of town.

Should the Bills now win a Super Bowl without Diggs, then the Minnesota media will push even harder, insisting that JJ is what is holding the team back.

I think there are, I don't know, 5-6 people(?) in here like myself that are turned off by what JJ has been saying publicly about his contract process.

There is also some frustration with the way Kwesi has been talking to the situation.

He seems more worried about patronizing JJ than simply stating that the team has many considerations, including JJ. Which is the truth.

I haven't seen JJ
- throw teammates under the bus
- bitch/fight with coaches
- bitch about management
- complain about not getting enough balls
- take personal foul penalties during the game
- kick corp sponsers off the bus
- get arrested
- embarrass the franchise off the field
- quit on the team

I think there are lots of fans raw from Kurt stealing money from the franchise for 6 years.
If you don't want the franchise to pay him... that's fair.

But JJ has played his ass off for this team so far...
No where near diva yet, IMO.
(hell, I may eat my words if negotiations go south and JJ forces his way out... but I can only judge him by what he has done so far)

The quote you mentioned ties in perfectly with the rest of his 'break the bank' public comments.

You can deny that but it does. Although some of his other comments in the last few months have been much more obnoxious.

I get it. You have no problem with it.

You itemized a list of your qualifications for diva, as long as he stays clear of those things, pay him whatever, it doesn't matter.

That is a completely different angle than I am arguing. I haven't accused him of any of the things on your list.

IMO the self-importance and the market value that he talks about ... goes way beyond his actual importance to the franchise. He's a WR not a QB.

That is only 50% of the burr under my chaps. It also bothers me that KAM seems hell bent on doing whatever it takes to sign him. I would put a limit on that.

Randy Moss had 226 catches for 4163 yards and scored 44 touchdowns in 48 games in his first 3 seasons

It’s not even close.

No guaranteed balloon contracts.

You would think owners would learn SOMETHING, after shelling out a quarter of a BILLION dollars for Mr mediocrity…

Seems there always has to be some posters aren’t happy now that Kirk is gone. I say BFD on the contract when the salary cap is in 250 million range. You may hate it but he sells more Jerseys and hopefully playoff wins come. Moss is attached to a very good team when he arrived… not all players have that kind of luck.

Biggest reason you pay him. He isn’t 25 yet. Same age as St. Brown

I personally don't believe he's worth $30+ million but that is today's NFL. Unlike Phil, I don't believe the contract has been done "for some time now". I believe there is a hold up on the % of guaranteed money. I hope the TEAM sticks to their policy regarding guaranteed money for non-QBs.

I started with Top tier stat QB but that was clumsy. So he's in the vague upper tier.

Should have said a top QB who will sucker his next team out of at least $100,000,000. And what do you know, the clown show over in Atlanta stepped right up!

O'Neill is another player with too-high cap figures, but the team has used his contract to drum up cap so many times the true figures are buried. His current contract started out at 5 yrs, $92 million. $18.5 APY.

Some posters aren’t happy because we haven’t had a competitive team since 2017.

If you want to simply focus on the positive and rationalize the negative, go for it. Not everybody’s narrow like that.

According to Purple Daily (on a pod months ago) they already broke that policy with Hock. Not sure that it matters but....

They also seem to agree with you that the holdup is guaranteed money.
