Can you imagine there never being a scenario you didn’t pick glass half empty?

Well there was that one time at band camp......[:-]

PITTSBURGH -- Hours after quarterback Russell Wilson officially signed his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team traded 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday.

The Steelers will receive a 2024 third-round pick (No. 98) and two 2025 seventh-round picks in exchange for Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 120), sources told Schefter.

------------

Really good chance Pick #20 is a QB now.

This team has been pissing on my fan/ grave since 2009…

.
.
if the costs were our picks 11, 23, and next year's 1st rounder, would you prefer trading for the #2 pick this year, or justin herbert from the chargers?

herbert's salary on his existing contract:

2024...$6mm
2025....$15mm
2026..$24mm
2027...$36mm
2028...$47mm

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (3/15/2024 4:55:25 PM)

I want to get down on my knees and start pleasing David. I want to feel his positivity and jubilation all over my face.

The Chargers do have serious cap issues and that looks really cheap for Herbert. I would max out at the 2 firsts this year and a 3rd next year. Almost like Kevin Costner is our GM with all this activity.

Each year it gets a little harder doesn't it? I think I've become more apathetic with the passing of time.

I am guessing the Vikings are trading #11 and #23 for pick #5 with S.D., and the Vikings take JJ McCarthy.

Is that a fair trade, or is it a Kwesi trade of giving up a little too much ?

And do you guys and gals like McCarthy enough to make that trade ?

What if Denver offers the farm to the Cardinals and jump us for McCarthy, if that's who KOC/Kwesi have identified?

Unless we trade up to #2, I don't expect any trade to be announced until the pick we're trading up to is on the clock.

I don't buy that we obtained 23 in order to get to 5...

I think they want #2, but may settle for #3...

I was thinking before the draft for either, but you may be right that we wait till draft day if they can't get #2...

Chris Olson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (3/15/2024 7:18:54 PM)

The leverage with New England to convince them to trade the #3 to us comes with the threat to trade up to #2. "Hey look NE, if I'm offering you 11, 23, and and a future 3rd. Anything more than that I'm going to talk to 1 and 2."

I lean to the latter, 3 firsts should get us to #2, right?

I think you right Chris.

Kwesi's going Big game hunting!

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (3/15/2024 8:32:08 PM)

It's been a roller coaster and I've been down as KAM as anyone on here. Always questioning if he actually, even, has a plan. This week has made me really start to come around on him. If he pulls this off and grabs a stud QB and we go in to next year with the cap space we should have [:D]

2) Daniels/Maye
3) McCarthy

Mark Anderson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (3/15/2024 10:03:52 PM)

I will say that if Herbert is available, there will be some gigantic offers from other teams to contend with.

Stud defender at #11, Penix or Nix at #23 ?

That's a reasonable hypothesis.

Herbert can't be traded because of the guaranteed money that would accelerate.
I looked it up at one point... it's insane.

part of the deal from harbaugh's perspective would be to pick up mccarthy...i wondered about the dead cap issues - so possibly, impossible....
