ORIGINAL: MDK I don't care which MLB team. Baseball players need to watch athletes in other sports stretch, etc. Before they play And while they play too. There should be an area behind the dugout for that. How many times do we see players get injured just running the bases hard with no contact at all? That doesn't happen in any other sport. Because baseball players alternate between standing around in the field and sitting in the dugout and spitting... and then all of a sudden they have to sprint at full speed, and their bodies are clearly not ready for it. I disagree about other sports. Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers both blew an achilles on a non contact play. There are tons of other examples. But that doesn't take away from the need for our training staff to better prepare these guys before and during a game. I think every player should be required to do yoga. Obviously I was exaggerating a bit. I know it can happen in other sports. But it seems more prevalent in baseball where a guy gets hurt simply running, not trying to elude a defender or make a quick stop etc. Just running. And yes I agree, yoga would be a great fit for baseball players.
