My initial opinion after the dismantling of the Giants by the Vikings is we can go toe to toe with anyone.
then I saw the 49ers dismantle the Jets....
49ers are the favorites (with the Lions) to represent the NFC in the Superbowl. They are well coached, have as good as if not better set of playmakers on their offense than the Vikings.
But we beat essentially the same team here last year. We can beat them again. I still see us losing a closer one.
Skeptics and cynics say our victory over the Giants should be taken with a grain of salt. and to an extent I agree, but despite the Offensive shortcomings of the Giants, they do have a very good defensive front seven...and Darnold did a great job against them.
I think we can go toe to toe with them. I think we can beat them....but it will be a much bigger test and even losing a close one will signal to the NFL that we are the pushovers that everyone expected this year.
It's pretty much going to hinge on if Darnold can repeat his efficiency from last Sunday.
One little problem with Darnold here is that he played for the 49ers last year and they have a very good idea what his weaknesses are.
So we shall see.
