tai felton - taller and faster than addison and nailor - 6'-1", 4.37/40, better final college year than both...he's the fastest wr on our team...stayed at Maryland all four years - a senior....

remaining picks: 1st & 4th picks of the 5th round....

I like the pick. And it was a low key need.

JJ is the man and Addison is going to get expensive - or potentially moved if he doesn’t stop the off field stuff. Nailor is a FA after the season.

Felton has a ton of upside. He can be our Z receiver this year and he’s cheap for 4 years.

quote:

Felton's 10-yard split (1.51 seconds), 40 time (4.37) and jumps at the combine were all outstanding. He's a vertical threat with the second gear to run past defenders and take the top off the coverage. He tracks and adjusts to the deep ball well. Felton pulls away when in the seam after the catch, makes defenders miss and breaks tackles in space. He flashes as a route runner and has the traits to develop.

Low key need? [;)]

Keeping the WR hopper filled is important. They do need people to exploit the defensive problems caused by Jefferson.

12 games 96 receptions. That's 8 receptions a game. Not targets. Receptions. That's a busy guy.

DrToddSeanMallett -> RE: 2025 NFL Draft (4/26/2025 7:40:05 AM)

2 DL today? 2 DB? One of each?

DrToddSeanMallett -> RE: 2025 NFL Draft (4/26/2025 7:49:28 AM)

I love Sanders dropping. Tell us again which h teams are you willing to play for again?

I like he got endorsed by the biggest lover of them all.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: 2025 NFL Draft (4/26/2025 8:01:20 AM)

WR was a secondary need. That group looks very different if one of the top 2 are unavailable. This adds depth.

Felton lacks size I suppose, and some other qualities of Day 1 receivers, but what he had was production. I like that. He’s a gamer. One way or another he got it done.

Today? I’ve never been a great Day 3 mind. Just get a CB. That’s my only requirement.

I think we're going to sign a high level FA at CB. People are saying Asante Samuel I think.

I'm against trading next years picks. We have most of our needs covered for this year and cap space to add after the draft. Next year is a better draft class. Next year will be lean for free agent spending and we will need to maximize the draft for talent.

I'm against trading future picks, but it's more because there isn't a lot of compelling value that fits.

Sanders must've interviewed so bad.
Mbow still there, for a guard hungry team?

The two RB are decent value, but the next round of the draft is absolutely drenched in very good RB prospects. No sense trading up for them.
Just off the list, a decent supply of LB and some DB. Couple NT.

I wonder what the Vikes want.

It really is surprising how many consensus top 100 guys are still on the board going into day 3. The Shedeur Sanders saga has gotten almost comical at this point. Especially after Mel tore into NO for not taking him in the first round. Turns out nobody else wants him either.

Brad H -> RE: 2025 NFL Draft (4/26/2025 11:05:19 AM)

Shedeur Sanders would be an intriguing pick at this point. You get a guy on a very small rookie contract that could end up being a player. I gotta say, I wouldn't be entirely against the Vikings going after the guy.

The problem with drafting Sanders is the high-profile nature of his father and the potential circus surrounding the pick.

A lot of that is coming out now. Horrible interviews. Super entitled. Add that to how toxic his dad has been in every pre-draft interview and you have a guy who just isn't nearly good enough to be worth the drama.

I wouldn't be shocked if the NFL makes an example out of the kid and he goes undrafted.

I said two days ago we needed to draft a wide receiver. IMO, it was a need. Get past the first two guys in the depth chart and there isn't much there.

That and JJ and Addison are the only two we have under contract beyond this year.

We'll lose Nailor because someone will offer him more than we're willing to pay for a 3rd WR.

The thing he's missing is Addison has much better hands and is way better at catching contested balls.

Felton's upside is an ideal 3rd WR.

I was kinda thinking the reverse: less than half a round. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them wind up as priority free agents. Kinda like Ivan Pace, who was one of the top 2-3 undrafted prospects.

David Levine -> RE: 2025 NFL Draft (4/26/2025 12:15:19 PM)

If this kid makes it to the top of the 5th, he needs to be our pick. Flores can mold him into a star.

quote:

ORIGINAL: David Levine

Zah Frazier is my "draft crush" this year. Great fit for Flores system.

CB. 6'3, 185lb. 4.37 40.

2024 stats: 20 Solo tackles, 1 FF, 6 INTs, 9 PDs.

------------

Zah Frazier is a CB prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 9.43 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 145 out of 2509 CB from 1987 to 2025.

https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=27339&ovl=UTSA

-----------

UTSA Roadrunners cornerback Zah Frazier projects as a developmental starter at the NFL level. He’s an elite blend of length and speed, which is the foundation of many highly coveted cornerback prospects.

Frazier is effective most in zone coverage as a deep third defender working from a half-turn. This is an older prospect who is blossoming late in his college career, but teams should be undeterred, as the flashes this year were strong. He’s taken a winding path to the NFL that included three programs and would greatly benefit from the stability of consistent coaching to pull the potential out of his game.

Positives
• Long-limbed and offers a big area of influence at the catch-point
• Explosive straight-line speed and ability to carry routes vertically
• Big-time ball production in 2024 indicates how deep the potential runs

Negatives
• Will be a 25-year-old rookie by the mid-season of his rookie campaign
• Tall, high-cut frame can tax his transitional quickness
• Limited workload and experience at the FBS level with 10 starts at UTSA

https://www.the33rdteam.com/zah-frazier-2025-nfl-draft-scouting-report/

-------------

Zah Frazier is the next high upside Day 3 CB from UTSA. He isn’t quite as athletic as Riq Woolen but he has better college tape.
- 6-3 with long arms
- 6 interceptions in 2024 (2nd most in FBS)
- Overwhelming press CB
- Only 1 career missed tackle

https://x.com/noflagsfilm/status/1867571408349384789?s=61&t=5ngyjW6Dfub-mmdLqMC8gQ

-------------

Why does he drop to Day 3?

Turns 25 this year, JuCo transfer who hardly played his first 2 years at a small school (under 100 snaps in 2022-23 combined) before playing well as an overager last year.
