Toby Stumbo -> WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (8/28/2025 11:20:23 AM)

And so it begins... Did the Vikes find their Franchise QB that will lead them to multiple Super Bowls? Will the defense truly be Elite? We begin to find out now.

Go Vikes!

Todd M -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (8/28/2025 3:11:53 PM)

Here's to making that trip around the sun.

Expectations feel different. In that there are expectations.

It's going to unfold as it does. Let's hope this is the one.

Beginning the season on Monday Night Football! Chicago field has been an issue in the past, let's hope for win and no injuries

Trailing off...

Five of their first seven games are either at night or in the a.m.

With back to back games in Ireland and England, they are the first NFL team to play consecutive games in different countries. Read they will stay in Europe so that should be good for the latter game against the Browns. And they have a bye after all that is over.

That should fill the Vikings quota for a while. Read a game will be played in Australia in 2026. That would suck.

I heard on KFAN this morning that they have had a bunch of concerts on that field in the recent past so it will be freshly laid sod....
So another shitty field in Chicago. No surprise there.

PA pass for a TD 1st play.

I'd love to see both coaches agree to say F it, I'm not risking injuries to my players on this. Let the NFL or owners subsidize some of that additional so-called lost revenue. Each team rec'd ~ $432 million from the NFL last year, and that's just national revenue.

Instead there will be an apparently nice green field on the screen.

The Packers' national revenue increased 7.5% from $402.3 million to $432.6 million, with their local revenue rising 13.7% from $251.8 million to $286.4 million, equaling a 9.9% increase in total revenue from $654.1 million to $719.1 million.

While revenue is not profit (Operating Profits: No team below $56M annually per Forbes). it's beyond lucrative.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (9/2/2025 4:03:06 PM)

Since 1970, league revenue has grown nearly 46,000%, while player salaries have grown about 7,700%.

David Levine -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (9/4/2025 5:43:53 PM)

Fans can catch all the action on ESPN, ABC and ESPN Deportes. "Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli" -- the "ManningCast" -- will air simultaneously on ESPN2. Coverage begins with "NFL Live" at 3 ET on ESPN, followed by "Monday Night Countdown" at 6. Both pregame shows will broadcast live from Soldier Field.

I really enjoy the Mannings calling games. Should be fun.

lyle chabot -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (9/8/2025 9:04:36 AM)

We will finally get to see JJ in a regular season NFL game, I hope he and the team does great tonight. The National pundits can finally stop saying that JJ has not played a down in the regular season yet.

And Brad.. and a few other haters..

I’m just hoping for a win, no significant injuries, and McCarthy getting over his “first NFL live game” jitters without doing to much self inflicted pain on my hopium…

Been a long off season..

Go vikes!!

David Levine -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (9/8/2025 12:20:56 PM)

Thought Darnold yesterday looked very much like last year was a product of the Vikings' coaches and players.

Bodes well for JJ.

On what would have been the game winning drive he started firing some darts and then he went blue screen of death again on the fumble. A full on "Sam Darnold experience".

He probably throws as nice of a ball as anyone. But moments get too big for him.

My biggest worry is that it it's at Soldier Field. Vikings games there tend to be fluke filled, ugly ass football. Maybe JJ will have some mojo since he grew up 15 miles from it.

They're literally trying to tamp down all the seams in the field right now...

David Levine -> RE: WEEK 1: @ Bears 9-8-25 7:15PM CT (9/8/2025 5:26:17 PM)

From 1 hour ago by Courtney Cronin who covers the Bears for ESPN:

Several members of the field crew at Soldier Field are surveying the turf right now and placing a sand/seed mix in areas that need to be filled on the playing surface. The field was re-sodded after a stretch of five concerts at the end of August.

That is without a doubt the shittiest 100 yard stretch of turf in the world.
