The opposite for Sadiq … infallible pundit opinion has turned me against him lately … which means he’s a lock if available. I was also just reading on espn that, this dt class is fairly weak but the next two are projecting as even weaker. Does that make you jump on someone this year earlier or resign yourself to free agency?

Does that make you jump on someone this year earlier or resign yourself to free agency? The D was really good last year in defensive ypc and 20+ yard rushes allowed. Near the top of the league. Pretty bad in rushing 1st down %, like maybe we can't stop 3rd and short. The D was also near the top of the league in QBR and sacks. So the stats back up the idea a lot of posters have advocated: draft a big DT/NT. Based on the stats above I'd be ok with a one-dimensional run-stopper type whose pass rushing isn't up to par. Maybe Lee Hunter in the 2nd round. McDonald would be good but will probably be taken in the 1st round. IMO the dropoff from McDonald to Hunter isn't that great, and you still have the 18th pick if you wait. Or trade down a bit and hope McDonald is there. In short lol, address DT but not at the 18th spot.

I would not be happy with Sadiq at 18. He is a measurables king but his production last year was "meh".

Would be totally fine with S Thieneman and DT Hunter. Get a C in the third followed by RB or WR with the late third.

A little over 48 hours from now the Vikings begin a Kwesi free draft, finally! I am curious how Brezenski (sp?) does, but I am confident it has to be better than Kwesi. I wish we knew what Harrison's plans are but we will still a safety this year one way or another. I am good if we wait to the 2nd or 3rd round as long as we get a stud the first round. No more failures! Nothing new here but we need a runningback (hopefully with speed), a center, and a corner. Hoping I can go to sleep Saturday night with positive feel about the draft. Skol!

In shorts at his pro day, "Displayed rare blend of quickness, explosiveness and power..."

I would take Safety AJ Haulcy in the second or third round I dont have a feel for these things … I could see him in the third, not sure how fast safeties will go. I’ll take any one of the top 5-6 safeties, wherever that ends up being.

I’m wondering if we have any interest in the edge/de inside-outside dudes like Falk, Young and maybe Mesidor as a way of improving the DL. Since they seem higher rated than any of the DTs. Maybe after a small trade down?

The latter Dallas pick is at #20. Seeing how Jones likes to get camera time, I can see him trading to #18 just for the attention. Points wise, they give us a 4th. We return a 6th.

The center group is very underrated. It's actually a really good year to need a center. Iowa's Logan Jones has second- or third-round upside, and Auburn's Connor Lew and Florida's Jake Slaughter (super underrated) look like picks for the third or fourth round. Texas A&M's Trey Zuhn III and Duke's Brian Parker II are both moving from offensive tackle to center, and they join Kansas State's Sam Hecht to round out a really strong group. I also like Michigan State's Matt Gulbin as a late-round steal. We're not talking about these centers enough. Take a real center in the 3rd. Real as opposed to a converted G or T because there is no game footage of them at C.
