Looks like the lads ran into a bit of a buzzsaw on the second day of back to backs. Colorado is just damn good.

And we looked like our legs were dead and just couldn't keep up. As long as they take care of business tomorrow against the Preds and go into the break on a good note and don't let the loss bother them we should be good.

The epitome of this was when Boldy has an attempt at a Short Handed....it looked like he couldn't get going

Rumors According to Skor North:

Ryan Hartman to Philly Tyson Forester or Bobby Brink

TJSweens -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/24/2025 12:54:22 PM)

Not buying it.

1. Forester had surgery and is out for the year.
2. The Wild no longer need to clear cap.
3. It will take more than Hartman to get Forester or Brink.
4. Guerin has $8.3M in cap. He is going big game hunting to add to the Hughes acquisition.

This is my guess:

Ryan O’Reilly
Team: Nashville Predators
Position: Center
Shoots: Left
Age: 34
Contract term: 2027 UFA
Current cap hit: $4,500,000
Trade Board ranking: No. 14

LeBrun: Minnesota Wild
OK, I stole this idea from our Wild expert, Michael Russo. But I agree it makes sense.

The Wild need a center who can win draws, and O’Reilly can still contribute offensively, is a Cup champion and is the type of character guy Wild general manager and president of hockey operations Bill Guerin loves, as far as the culture piece of it.

Now, as I recently reported, my understanding is that O’Reilly’s agent Pat Morris let it be known to some teams that had shown interest this season that O’Reilly wasn’t ready to go down this path at this point. O’Reilly sees himself as part of the solution in Nashville and doesn’t want to abandon ship. I can certainly see a world in which he doesn’t go anywhere.

But there’s still time for things to change before the trade deadline. At a $4.5 million cap hit this year and next, O’Reilly is good value and especially so if the Wild could get the Predators to retain.

I believe the price on O’Reilly would be a first-round pick and a top prospect. The Wild already moved their 2026 first-round pick in the Quinn Hughes deal, but they do have a first-rounder in 2027. There might be other ways to entice Nashville, too.

There is a very long list of teams that covet O’Reilly. But a trade to Minnesota does make sense.

The problem with him is that the Preds are sneaky close to the playoffs. Would they sell him at this point?

That’s just it, it sounds like he would prefer to stay if they have a chance to make the playoffs.

Charlie Stramel scores his 2nd goal of the game off of a rebound. He finished the win with 2 goals & 1 assist. He's up to 21 points (8+13) in 17 games. #mnwild

#mnwild acquire Boris Katchouk from the Lightning for Michael Milne. 179 career NHL games for Katchouk, who is heading to Iowa

The Wild are back rolling after a two game hiccup, beating the Jets and LV back to back. The Boldy-Ek-Johansson line continues to dominate. Johansson had 4 pts last night with Boldy and Ek each getting a goal and an assist. Boldy is on fire and now leads the team with 25 goals. I guess Kaprizov better get it in gear.

Some mid 6 players (Hartman, Johansson, Zuccarello) have slotted up and been effective. Johansson is having a career year. And, for once, someone on the other team got ejected for a dirty on Hartman.

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/30/2025 9:46:34 AM)

I didn't stay up for the game, but it sounds like it was pretty much a blow out from the start. I think it's becoming clear that we need another high end center to team with Kirill to make his line really click. Hartman has his moments, but we need more from our #1 center. Glad tomorrow's game is a matinee at 3 PM. The worst part of these western road trips is all of the 9 PM start times.

David Pagnotta: Re Wild: Guerin was looking for a top-six forward before he landed Quinn Hughes; that search continues; the Wild may try to move out a body if it means taking another big swing; word on the street suggests they have been shopping...Hartman - Fourth Period (12/29)

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 11:31:09 AM)

Good. Guerin doesn't seem to be fooled by MoJo's productivity. If it continues, super-bonus. If it tails off, like it probably will, protect against that and get more secondary scoring.

LOL! Sometimes it's good to watch other broadcasts to realize the Wid's team pregame isn't bad. It offers pretty good perspective. I'm watching the Sharks guys and their "Gorg" was reporting on the ice about the "palatable excitement". There were about 5 teenagers in the shot off to the side, all on their phones and the background was just empty seats.

All the while Gorgy was talking up Celebrini and comparing his stats to the likes of Gretsky and Crosby at his age....

Gotta admit. That kid is much better than I expected and was named to the Olympic roster this AM (Bedard left off).

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 3:08:34 PM)

Yup, Celebrini at 19 is already a very good complete player and is only going to get better. To me Bedard is more of a floater and doesn't have the size to take big hits, thus he is currently out due to shoulder injury.

He has been coming on lately, which is good. Still has a lethal shot for sure.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 3:52:41 PM)

Decent period but we had some really long stretches of having a hard time exiting the zone.

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 4:05:50 PM)

Hoping for some better passing here in the 2nd period and less face offs....seemed like there was never any flow to the game.

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 4:40:19 PM)

The last few times we have played the Sharks we just don't seem to ever get to our game and are always just a little off. Frustrating to watch especially when Kirill seems to be missing in action.....

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (12/31/2025 5:05:11 PM)

3-1 Sharks....a good time to switch to the US vs Sweden game getting underway in a few minute.
