Dang you, Todd !

On March the 8th weighing an even 285 I made it a goal to hit 275 within the next month's worth of time. Down again this morning - to 278.8.

That's .975 pounds a day. Seems crazy to me. I'm not on the biggest loser eating lettuce sandwiches being pushed to the limit by a personal trainer...

The more you got to lose, the faster it comes off. When you start getting towards a weight you should be at, the pounds start coming of slower. The body is always looking for a status quo, when you've lost weight, it remembers you at the heavier weight, makes it easy to put the weight back on. Also works in the opposite direction.

Or a plumber wannabee. The early trendsetters.

I really value a plumber's crack. Just let that orafice shine like it should !

Don't worry about the taint - focus on the asymptote y'all !

Here's an idea for somebody to get rich. Make a Tee Shirt with a plumber under the sink ass sticking out. Then put a nuke symbol around it and the words just say no.
Get it. Just say no to crack hahahaha.

That's amazing! Congratulations! You clearly were in the right frame of mind and totally determined to see this thing through. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 4:15:33 PM)

Thanks Lynn.

I know it was on me to change but the propping up I received here did play into getting me going.

The support I received from my wife and some fellow posters made a difference in my life.

Some chose not to stand by me...even tried to take me down a peg. I won't forget the ones that gave me encouragement though.

Thomas O. Eliason -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 5:40:08 PM)

Yay for Todd !

Wow.

Time to start selling your plan!

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 8:10:48 PM)

I missed the mark. I should have gotten T2D a decade ago...made the changes...and then become a nutritionist and helped people that way. I went back to school to become a Personal Support Worker instead and bombed out.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 8:11:56 PM)

I eat.

A lot of whole foods.

As many 'super foods' as I can afford to stock.

With portion control.

I enjoy what I eat. I'm invested in it.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 8:12:58 PM)

Plus exchanged pop for water.

And I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that the metformin I take is known to be an appetite suppressant.

So far, so good. Watch out for holidays and long weekends. Rich food and riotous living are the death knells of many self-improvement plans. Keep up the good work, my man.

I'd be curious to see your list of super foods to know what is working.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/24/2016 8:26:38 PM)

When I get back from work...

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/25/2016 6:19:01 AM)

This is the list I worked off of initially:

http://skinnyms.com/50-super-foods-the-ultimate-shopping-list/

Ones I eat every day/almost every day:

Almonds
Avocados
Bananas
Berries/Cherries
Chia seeds
Dark chocolate (non alkalized cocoa powder)
Flax seeds
Garlic
Hot peppers
Lemons
Low fat yogurt
Oats
Olive Oil
Bell peppers

Ones I try and eat somewhat regularly:

Apricots (dried)
Asparagus
Beans (I eat a lot of chick peas, and try to do up black beans in a roasted tomato soup once a week)
Broccoli/Cauliflower
Cabbage
Fish (mostly salmon) eat mussels every day
Eggs
Mushrooms
Tomatoes

You'll notice the bulk of the ones I'm missing from my diet are the fruits.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/25/2016 6:36:09 AM)

I also try and drink a fresh lemon and ginger "tea" every morning. Fresh lemon and ginger in hot water anyway.

My go to snack is smoked mussels and an avocado covered in garlic and jalapeno. With or w/o crackers.

No white bread. Bread at all really. The only thing along that line I eat is Triscuits low sodium crackers...a serving - 4. Can and do make my own...just making the time for it...big savings on carbs when I do. No rice (use cauliflower for everything instead) no pop, no potato, no processed food, no sugar.

What have I allowed myself outside of that, over 45 days?

A half dozen French Vanilla's with a shot of expresso on nights I needed a kick start.
10 pieces of candy. Had those 10 sour keys on hand for weeks...
McDonalds - once. Felt ready to explode I wanted it so bad the one night in the middle of the night. Should have just gone to bed. Man it was goooooooooood...
1 pop.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/25/2016 8:24:52 AM)

Thanks for providing your list.

I eat a greek yogurt just about every morning for breakfast and when I have some on hand I mix in some fresh fruit with it. High protein and a good kickstart to the day.

About once or twice a week I'll have a couple of eggs just to get some variety. Again - protein. I haven't had a bowl of cereal or buttered toast for breakfast for about two years and that used to be my standard. No wonder I was always sluggish and hungry again in an hour.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (3/25/2016 9:02:45 AM)

Just yesterday I was thinking about Todd's regime and wondering if he has a synopsis. Viola!

Great stuff. The fuel and goodness from those foods....
