It was nothing more than a money grab. The presidents should be embarrassed.

B10 commissioner caved to Wisconsin Ohio State and Nebraska to start this whole debacle
Take it up with him
93 cancelled college FB games so far
That is a debacle

Yep. This season never should have happened.

Vandy might use the first female ever (at the Power 5 level), as a kicker this weekend
Pending Covid test results.
Pulled her off the soccer team.

Just like I originally said, Bateman shouldn't have come back. He gone now.

It probably doesn't do much for his draft stock when Autman-Bell looks like the more dangerous receiver.

Rosemount linebacker Jake Ratzlaff picked Wisconsin over the Gophers. As always, I hope the scoreboard falls on him.

Rosemount linebacker Jake Ratzlaff picked Wisconsin over the Gophers. As always, I hope the scoreboard falls on him.

Rosemount senior linebacker/safety Jake Ratzlaff announced Monday his intention to play football for the University of Wisconsin.

Ratzlaff’s future had been the subject of much speculation. A talented hockey player who had played with the U.S. U-18 national team, he had given a verbal commitment to Minnesota after his freshman year.

“I knew for a long time that I wanted to go there, but I talked with their coaches this morning and made it official,” Ratzlaff said. “It’s an amazing campus, an amazing place. Their program is awesome.”

A talented all-around athlete, the 6-3, 215-pound Ratzlaff’s star began to rise as a football player last year and he reopened his recruiting to football coaches. His two finalists were Wisconsin and Minnesota, but he also held football offers from Iowa and Iowa State.

When he wasn’t drafted in the 2020 NHL Draft earlier this year, many believed that was a sign that he had changed his focus to football. “That he didn’t get drafted might mean that he’s made a decision,” Jeff Erdmann, his high school football coach, said.”

Ratzlaff was considered three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 7-recruit in Minnesota in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports, a ranking likely influenced by uncertainty over whether he would play football or hockey.

He said his days in skates are likely over.

“I’m getting surgery on my (right) labrum in two weeks and there’s about a four-month recovery,” he said. “I do want to play baseball to end my high school career, so it looks like hockey is out of the question for now.”

He’ll join Lakeville South lineman Riley Mahlman, considered the state’s top recruit, at Wisconsin. Last year’s No. 1-ranked player in Minnesota — Minnehaha Academy linebacker Kaden Johnson — also chose to play at Wisconsin.

Wowwwwwwww
Sounds like we are no longer rowing a boat here
We're one of those ferrys that get pulled over to Wisconsin, where all of our loot gets dropped off
Then we get pushed back out into the current,. and the rope gets snipped.
This hurts.

As for Ratzlaff .... scoreboard, do your stuff.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Gopher Football (12/1/2020 7:43:55 AM)

Fleck can't expect to beat WI anytime soon if they keep out recruiting him in his own back yard.

Yup

and Yup

Continually fail in-state is never going to help.

Guess this type of result will set 'em back another year or 3 in the effort to become relevant.

Shocking

Big 10 changing the game # rule.

The Big Ten is expected to change its policy that teams must play six games to be eligible for the conference championship game, likely paving the way for undefeated No. 4 Ohio State to face Northwestern on Dec. 19, pending further approval in the league, sources told ESPN.

The Big Ten's athletic directors met Wednesday morning, and while there was support to allow the Buckeyes in the conference championship with only five games, the policy change still has to be voted on by a larger group that includes the athletic directors and the senior women administrators, and it has to ultimately receive approval from the university presidents and chancellors.

Multiple sources told ESPN the meeting was collaborative and said there was a consensus that a sixth game would not change the Big Ten's East Division standings. If Ohio State found another opponent to replace Michigan, the Buckeyes would still win the East, win or lose.
