Two ESPN analysts making their bowl projections both predict Gophers in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

Yuck, They wouldn’t even get to go somewhere warm.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (12/1/2025 5:51:15 PM)

This is cool for the fans who go to the games:

The Gophers finish undefeated at home for the first time since 1967.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (12/2/2025 9:43:58 AM)

And, unless my memory is failing me, winless on the road [:o]

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (12/2/2025 9:55:29 AM)

There was a great article about how Tennessee manages their NIL money:

https://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/college/university-of-tennessee/football/2025/11/30/tennessee-football-signing-day-2026-nil-negotiations/87123096007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&gca-uir=false&gca-epti=z11xx68p118550n11----c11----u004368d00----v11xx68&gca-ft=36&gca-ds=sophi

I don't know what PJ did or had for money but he didn't have the skilled positions setup other than 1st string QB and 1st string RB. 13.5 Million salary cap for Tennessee and 10% for each QB and WR.

Yep. It included 2 tough games against top teams, Oregon and Ohio State. Understandable though it would be nice to be one of those top teams once in a while. A tough but winnable rivalry game in Iowa in which they were dominated. And two bad losses to Northwestern and Cal.

If PJ doesn't have a run game he doesn't win on the road......his coaching style depends on it.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (12/27/2025 9:00:15 AM)

I watched the first quarter of the bowl game and decided that two teams this bad shouldn't be in a bowl game and turned it off.

They did play better the 2nd half but the 3 weeks off before the bowl game is quite a break.

Ouch! Koi Perich enters the transfer portal.

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2026 8:58:25 AM)

I saw that. Why can't we ever have nice things?

I know he said he isn't ruling out staying in Minnesota, but these guys are all dazzled by the big lights and big programs. So he'll go from being a big fish in a little pond to a tiny fish in an ocean. Crap.

He'll be a stud wherever he goes.

He'll just make a lot more money next year doing it.

Not sure what he will make but he had at least 150k in NIL last year.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2026 3:31:24 AM)

I was bored and decided to watch Gopher's bowl game "Highlights". Talk about underwhelming. Were we as bad as we looked in this game for the whole season?

Very late reply.

This is the problem with the portal. A highly touted player has a disappointing year. Somebody gets in his ear and says it’s not your fault, it’s the surroundings. You need to get out of there.

He becomes easy pickings. Grass is Greener syndrome.

Fortunately it works both ways. The Gophers need to make up for it with incoming players.

Same thing with a good year. Enter the portal and go where there is more NIL money.
