Thomas O. Eliason -> 3rd greatest RB of all-time (4/28/2013 8:49:29 PM)

Well folks, we have a top 2:

1) Adrian Peterson
2) Walter Payton

Please take a moment and vote for the 3rd best running back of all-time.

Choices are above. If I didn't include your choice, just post the name here and I'll add to the list.

Well folks, the votes have made it clear, we're biased and stupid.

Barry Sanders isn't in the top two?

Fraudulent!

I voted Barry, but Fenney was definitely under rated. A poor man's Leroy Hoard. "You need 1 yard? I'll get you 1 yard 6 inches. You need 2 yards? I'll get you 1 yard 6 inches."

Fenny and Nelson might have been a good enough backfield, if the Vikes had traded for a QB, instead of trading for HW.

The Vikes should have traded for Elway, Marino, Kelly, Montana, Young. They probably could have gotten one of those with what they gave up for Herschel.

Doubt it.

None of those teams would have done that trade at that time for their QB.  Except maybe for Steve Young, who was an abyssmal failure in TB.  And if you think the Vikings trade of Hershel Walker would have been a fleecing...at least at that point he had established stardom.  Young hadn't yet.

And there was no way we could have predicted his future success with the 49ers at that point.

But hindsight is always 20/20.

Barry Sanders and Jim Brown combined got about 10% of the vote for the top 2. [&:][&:][&:]

It was hindsight Scott, I said at the time they got HW that it was a mistake, that they should have instead traded for a QB. I was saying that the week of the HW trade to fellow Vikings' fans, and the rest of the season I pointed it out. "A QB is what they should have traded for, NOT a RB", I repeated that the rest of the season. And some people thought I was crazy for saying that at the time.

I think with what they gave up for Herschel, they sure could have gotten a good QB for that.

They were going up against AD and Sweetness.

Scottie Graham and OJ Simpson got more votes than Brown and Sanders. "sorry I forgot" tied Jim Brown with 1 total vote. Rick Fenney beat him out.............. [&:][&:][&:]
