Finally we get a 4 pt. weekend. A couple of much needed 4-1 wins. I know it was UAH, but we'll take points right now. Interesting that Mimmick got both starts in goal this weekend.

The WCHA is very top-heavy this year. Would be nice to sneak into that #4 spot for home ice in the playoffs.

I think that's the goal. Minn St., Bowling Green, and Mich Tech seem to be the best programs in the league right now.

Weekends like this will be very key in getting home ice. Usually I'd say splitting on the road would be good, but we need to make up some points for those bad weekends against Lake St and Northern Michigan. Screw it, let's just sweep the weekend and get 4 points.

Penn State Hockey doesn't make you excited and raise your interest???

I'm trying to hold on until MaryLand and RutGrrrrrs reach powerhouse status.
Then the fun REALLY begins!

As far as I'm concerned, you're one of us SMF!

I came to hockey later than all the other major sports, so I still have a lot to learn about it. I have learned a bunch about hockey just from reading your posts over the years on these boards.

Agreed. All I know is what I learned from SMF and NHL 95 on Sega Genesis.

Don't be jumpin off the Bitzer Bandwagon just yet ......

BSU wins 2-0. Harms and Gerbrandt with goals. Bitzer with 25 saves for his 2nd shutout of the season

Split at Ferris. Lost 2-1 tonight, but looking at the shots it seems like Bitzer played well again. We know he's our best goalie, and if he starts playing like he's capable we will be in good shape.

2nd half starts in Alaska tonight. We need a 180 over the first half of the year. I still feel like this team is capable of making a good run, but we can't wait any longer.

The guys came up big with a 3-point weekend in Alaska. Myles Fitzgerald is apparently back, and picked a great time to score his first 2 goals of the season. Makes me wonder why he's hardly dressed all season.

[&:][&:] Wow...slim pickins for defensive player of the week options. Is it because the BSU-Alaska matchup was the only in-conference series this weekend? I would have guessed so. But I see they gave rookie and offensive players of the week to guys that played non-conference games. Regardless, congrats Bitzer! We'll take it!

Took game 1 against Anchorage 6-3. Hopefully we keep putting the puck in the net. Let's go get it tonight boys - 7 out of 8 points in Alaska would be a great start to 2016.
