As kg noted, the updated Pairwise rankings place BSU at #26. The loss to #59 (out of 60 teams) Alabama-Huntsville was unacceptable. I'm surprised it didn't hurt BSU more in the Pairwise. Now we can't afford to be swept by any teams the rest of the way, especially Minnesota State and Michigan Tech. Winning the rest of our games against those two teams could be enough to get us back in the Top 14 in the Pairwise. The University of Alabama-Huntsville used a three-goal third period to erase a 2-1 deficit, steal a 4-2 victory Saturday and salvaging a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series split. Four different Chargers scored goals and Jesper Öhrvall posted a pair of assists to lead Alabama-Huntsville in scoring, while Jake Theut settled in after a rough first period to finish with 21 saves to collect his first victory of the season (1-5-0). The Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 8:09 into the game on goals separated by just 65 seconds by Charlie Combs and Dillon Eichstadt, but UAH would get one back before the end of the first and after a scoreless second frame, would three in the third, including a power-play goal by Cam Knight at the 4:34 mark, to tilt the game in their favor. Combs led the Beavers offensively netting a goal and an assist to finish the weekend with five points (4g-1a). BSU goaltender Zach Driscoll was tagged with the loss after allowing four goals on 17 shots in 56:13 between the pipes. He moves to 3-3-1 on the season. The Beavers dip to 7-7-2 overall and 5-4-1-0 in WCHA play. BSU will wrap up its current four-game homestand and the first half of the season next weekend when it welcomes the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
