Look at what Speilman has done with personnel in the context of other GM's in the league and you see he has a pretty good track record. Fire him and I guarantee he would snapped up by another organization in a heart beat, while we would probably go back to the triangle of authority. Speilman is so smart he drafted a kicker in the 5th round, when the team desperately needed offensive line depth. But this was a good kicker, somebody that would be around for a generation, great leg, bla bla bla.

Adam Vinatieri wasn't drafted, most kickers are not, even the best of the best. Speilman drafted one in the 5th round, ignoring a glaring need, and picked one that lasted two weeks, which was a week too long.
