Zimmer got badgered enough in the postgame about vote of confidence, rumors

So Deion Sanders said something

He replied ....apparently

Truth? Sometimes it bothers me, yeah.. I mean, we won 10 games this year. I’ve won 60% of my games in 6 years, 3rd winningest coach in Vikings history..and I have to listen to this crap.

Lol

That’s life in the nfl big boy without a title

They just don't get it sometimes, either, do they?
YES you will be judged on winning it all.

Loved that Rudy, Sendejo, and Rhodes all were huge yesterday
The trio that everyone loves to hate on
Thielen renewed our faith in him
He had a really rough patch lately. Started the GB debacle with his drop and subsequent whine for a PI call that wasn't there.
But he redeemed himself yesterday.
If you've never had a to catch a football dropping straight down from over your head while running a full speed, you don't realize how tough that game-winner was.
And make no mistake, that WAS the game-winner.

Ghost to the Post catch

As referenced by Howie Long

And that was before he ever played for the Raiders

Was an awesome catch

Saw a picture
Head is still up as the ball is about to hit his forearms

It's not a matter of love to hate. It's a matter of performance driving fan reaction. Rudy has stepped his game up this year and there is evidence to indicate that much of what he was criticized for was a product of how he has been schemed. Turns out the guy can block when the scheme demands he block.

Sendejo and Rhodes held there own yesterday. No doubt about that. Sendejo, frankly shocked the crap out of me yesterday. At the same time, those two earned every word of criticism they have received.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 10:28:04 AM)

Alexander May be ready this week

Pass

Go with what you used

Sendejo May draw Kittle
Or Kearse

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 10:30:06 AM)

It would be interesting to listen and see how they scheme this stuff

And then sell it to the players

This week we are doing something different

Some players probably think

It’s about time

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 10:30:55 AM)

Good point.

I was surprised Kearse didn't get the call yesterday. He seems to produce every time he is called on. For some reason, Zimm doesn't like him. If Alexander is ready, I would go back to him. I think your pushing your luck by letting it ride with Sendejo. I get that he really stepped up yesterday, but he has a track long record of doing dumb things at dumb times.

The main reason I adopted the raiduhs as my second favorite team.
Casper was the man. He was a shell by the time we got him here.
That play was etched in my brain the day it happened.
Cemented the gunslinger rep of Stabler.
And they had to change the rule book because Casper was smart enough to know that if you aren't going to make the first down, you might as well fumble it to someone who will. Loved how smart they were.

And NO ONE throws a better long ball imo than Cousins.
Its the one thing he does very well, consistently
Which is odd, because we do not try it that often.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 11:02:17 AM)

That was a game

I was a big Bert Jones fan

Lydell Mitchell

Roger Carr

But Snake and Casper were too much

They didn’t make a big deal about traveling East like they do now

Raiders seemingly did it nearly every year in the playoffs

Seattle went to Philadelphia and won

And it’s a big deal having to deal with the travel [&o]

Steve Lentz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 11:15:34 AM)

Keys to the big upset.

Zimmer's use of Griffen and Hunter. Saints simply weren't prepared for it and did not adjust to it.
A healthy Cook making plays and drawing defensive attention.
Turnover margin.
Cousins to Thielen on a couple HUGE plays.
RUUUUUUDY!

The first one before it was a better throw (Kirk threw it blind before a hit) and Thielen caught it also.

Not to irritate anyone, or start a war, but …
Was anyone else puzzled yesterday by Cook losing EVERY mano-y-mano battle at the LOS?
I recall maybe 4-5-6 times thinking … well, he's going to get impacted at the marker/goal line, but at least he's moving forward, and will get the first down/TD.
I'm still not sure he crossed the goal line on the last TD, and a couple short-yardage runs we needed, he got blowed up … blowed up real good.
I know the shoulder has to be a bitch, but he usually has enough mo to at least fall forward.
Worked out, just something I noticed. I do like our run game overall, tho. The parts seem interchangeable to some degree, but Dalvin really makes us go.
The real difference-maker yesterday on offense, imo. Ate clock, kept the chains moving, kept the ball in our hands. At least until crunch time.
If we can figure out crunch time, no one will beat us.

He did get stoned at the point of contact a few times for sure. Mattison would be a better short yardage option.

Apparently crossed the goal line but got stuck and stopped several times like he was a scat back
Unusual
Running him a bunch
Laterally was sniffed out so many times

The first half score was sweet and his speed won out
Mattison is getting there but doesn’t have the burst Cook has

More on Thielens day

By this point, the first quarter was a distant memory, and for Thielen that was a good thing. He'd started the game miserably, fumbling away the ball on the Vikings' first drive and setting up the Saints for an early 3-0 lead. When he got back to the sideline, he made a motion with his hand that simulated flushing a toilet.
"Just flush that play away," Thielen said. "It's actually something from college, our coaches used to make us do -- flush the bad play. We actually had a little mini toilet on the sideline and we'd have to go over and flush it. So that's where that came from."
The techniques of the Minnesota State-Mankato coaching staff having aided his mental recovery, Thielen was in pretty good psychological shape by the time the Vikings broke the huddle in overtime. He had caught six passes for 86 yards and helped the Vikings build a 20-10 lead of which they needed every bit just to get to this point. So when Cousins called the play, he bounced out to his position wide to the right.
"That play, it's something we haven't tried in a long time," Thielen said. "We've been practicing it, but I never thought we'd use it there."
The name of the play? Sorry, dear reader, but that's a place where this reporter came up short in his reporting.
"I don't think I can tell you that, Dan," Cousins said in the locker room when I innocently asked what the play was called. "I believe that's classified information."
Added Thielen: "It's a long playcall, so I don't remember the whole thing. I just know what I had on that play."

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 1:46:54 PM)

That’s good stuff

College mini toilet to flush

Long name play where you only remember your part

Made me chuckle
I've actually used that before , for years
When something bad happens in a game …. take the dump, flush it. Move on.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 1:55:29 PM)

Speaking of chuckling

Got tired of Aikman chuckling every time they did their Taysom Hill deification

Collinsworth last night didn’t discount the Vikings chances

He used the “they went on the road and did that to that offense” reasoning

Without the wonder-twit

Vikes win in regulation

And Scott was spot on yesterday about the fake punt

How did the Vikings not expect it at that point? Unreal

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 1:56:30 PM)

When Hill got around the edge and bolted down the sideline one person flashed into memory

Steve Young

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (1/6/2020 2:23:57 PM)

Taysom? is certainly everyone's WONDER BOY at this point.
Will probably result in a huge contract, then years of "what happened to that guy?"

Joe Charbonneau
Payton Hillis (cover of Madden)
Too many others to recount.
People will start to (and already should have...) gameplan for that jackwagon.
Come up and stick him before he gets rambling.
Life will soon go from fun to hard for that dude.
