Cook is playing as well as anyone in the NFL right now. The best RB in football at this point.
The OL has improved with the play of Cleveland. One guy making a heck of a difference on the OL.

Good takes in here
Every week the NFC has a power
Chiefs and Steelers seem above them all
Please God don’t let the Saints be as good as they looked last night
They are so damn irritating
Agree Ed, they’re good. But man I hate em

In the grandest state of Hilarity, I would love to see the Vikings make the playoffs, and beat the Saints again, ruining yet another season. My goodness Saints Fans would really begin to hate us.

They also have 2 of the more "irritating" players to me.

Hill, who Collinsworth called one of the most feared to tackle [&o]

And that DE that shoved on Brady getting up after a couple sacks.

They have some chippy guys on that team.

Winfield just keeps makin plays.

We didn't need him.

Love Winfield, but I can't see taking him over Jefferson or Gladney.

Good point
As sour as we are with them about Favregate ...
I've heard from plenty of Saints fans about how many times we have torn their hearts out ... good to hear I guess.
We don't do that to many people

I know its not a popular take, but damn, I am impressed with Pittsburghs consistency
Every year they get into the mix
They're always physical, fast, and skilled
On both sides. And Tomlin has outlasted the critics
Big Ben has settled into being one of those guys who just wins, baby.
Kind of the anti-new-wavers tho. They don't look like the Chiefs, they just pound you and outlast you.
Year after year. San Antonio Spur-ish.

Their personnel guys are good.

Get the same type player year in and out to play their defense. That Fitzpatrick guy makes plays, since they traded for him.

Find a couple running backs to get yards

Find speedy WRs

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/10/2020 9:26:08 AM)

Two of the better long-term winning coaches were d-coordinators w/the Vikings

Tony Dungy
Mike Tomlin

Should never have let Tomlin go.

Tomlin just looks and acts like a quality coach. Crazy somebody could look at him and Childress and pick Childress.

Always liked Tomlin, he explodes off the page "lifetime no brainer head coach".

That was a hard one to stop from happening. He was Chilli's first DC. Pittsburgh hired him after one year. The only to stop it would have been to fire the brand new HC and name Tomlin as his successor.

Pittsburgh has had an amazing run of head coaches since 1969. Chuck Noll, Bill Cower, Mike Tomlin. Three head coaches in 50 years. All Super Bowl winners.

And it's been up and down at best for the Vikings overall since Tomlin took Pittsburgh

Childress/Favre got to the championship then he was canned next year
Frazier got to the playoffs once
Zimmer got to the nfc title game once

Vikings seem like a middle of the road college team. Eventually load up for one big run, fall short, then backwards. Wash rinse repeat

The Steelers are just an incredibly well run organization from top to bottom. Running a football team must be in the Rooney DNA.

Field Yates@FieldYates

Mike Tomlin has now started his head coaching career with 14 straight non-losing seasons. No coach has *ever* had a longer streak to begin his career.

The Steelers are 8-0 for the first time ever and the NFL's only undefeated team.

Appreciate Mike Tomlin.

Blew it with that one.

I know the situation. Everybody thought it would be another year before he would actually be a true candidate for the HC position. But we let him go. and he could have been our guy.

Course it helps to have a HOF QB running your offense for the entire 14 year run. Just ask Mike McCarthy and Bill Belichik

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/10/2020 1:25:11 PM)

Little Diggs apparently broke a bone in his foot vs the Steelers Sunday.

Dallas injury list is massive.

Like I said before, the Wilfs weren't going to hire Childress one year and then fire him at the end of the same year and replace him with his defensive coordinator.

He wasn't even considered a serious candidate by Pittsburg. They were simply satisfying the Rooney rule and Tomlin blew them away with his interview.

I must be electioned out. Watching my first NFL game of the season. Since when do Joe Buck and Troy Aikman do Thursday night games?

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/12/2020 8:05:43 PM)

This is boring. I'm gonna watch the 2007 UND vs Gophers Final 5 championship game they are showing on FSN.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/13/2020 7:19:37 AM)

Indy doing their once-a-season run of "damn, these guys are pretty solid"
They have weeks where they look like the Steelers, but then weeks where they look like the Jets.
They are a tough out right now.

Before the game

They were facing the first top 10 offense this year

Or something like that

Their D can be really really good.

Felt bad for the Titan punter

third one this year

Gophers Shank on the one punt

Blocked because it was a jailbreak on the second

There was nowhere for him to hide.
